ChanelCC Tote Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel CC Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 27 x 25 x 12 cm, this tote is well suited to daily essentials such as a wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, cosmetics, and a small notebook or tablet. It is best thought of as a medium everyday tote rather than an oversized carryall. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: Yes. According to the product information, this item includes a shoulder strap and a serial number tag.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: This bag is rated in good condition. The exterior shows signs of wear on the corners and slight discolouration throughout. The interior has stains throughout the lining and a vintage smell. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Is a vintage smell unusual in a pre-owned Chanel bag?
A: Not necessarily. Older bags can develop a vintage or storage-related smell over time, especially if they have been stored for long periods. In this case, the vintage smell is already noted in the product information, so it has been factored into the condition description.

Q: What does the serial number mean?
A: The serial number is an identifying detail used as part of the dating and authentication process for vintage Chanel bags. This bag has serial number 7773484. As with many vintage Chanel pieces, the serial number is one authenticity indicator, but it should always be considered alongside overall craftsmanship, hardware, stitching, and other construction details.

Q: How do you authenticate this Chanel bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked for authenticity by specialists. For Chanel, this typically includes reviewing details such as the serial number format, materials, stitching, hardware, branding, and overall construction consistency before the item is offered for sale.

Q: Is beige a high-maintenance colour for a vintage Chanel bag?
A: Beige can be more delicate than darker shades because discolouration and colour transfer may show more easily. For that reason, it is best to avoid contact with dark denim, freshly dyed fabrics, moisture, and rough surfaces, and to store the bag carefully when not in use.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Chanel tote?
A: Avoid overfilling the bag, keep it away from prolonged heat, humidity, and direct sunlight, and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. Because this piece already shows corner wear and slight discolouration, gentle handling is recommended. If deeper cleaning is needed, professional care is the safest option for vintage designer bags.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: According to the product information, this Chanel CC Tote Bag was made in Italy.
