ChloéMedium Paddington Bag

Q: What are the exact measurements of this bag?
A: This Chloé Medium Paddington Bag measures approximately 37 cm wide, 18 cm high and 20 cm deep, with a handle drop of around 19 cm. It offers a roomy east-west shape that suits everyday essentials well.

Q: What typically fits inside the Medium Paddington?
A: The medium size usually fits a wallet, mobile phone, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch and a compact notebook or similar daily essentials. It is better suited to everyday carry than bulky items, so please use the measurements on this page as your best guide.

Q: Does this bag have a shoulder strap?
A: No. This particular bag is designed with dual rolled handles and does not come with a shoulder strap. It is best carried in the hand or on the crook of the arm, and may sit under the shoulder depending on your frame and outfit.

Q: Is the Paddington known to be heavy?
A: Yes. The Paddington is well known for feeling weightier than many soft leather handbags because of its substantial leather construction and signature padlock hardware. If you prefer a lighter carry, it is best not to overpack it.

Q: Does it close securely?
A: Yes. This bag features a zip closure, which helps keep your belongings secure while preserving the classic slouchy Paddington shape.

Q: What makes the Paddington so iconic?
A: The Paddington became one of Chloé's most recognisable bags thanks to its soft, slightly slouchy silhouette, rounded handles and oversized padlock detail. It is a defining design from the mid-2000s and remains a sought-after vintage style.

Q: How can I tell if a vintage Paddington is authentic?
A: Collectors usually look for supple leather, substantial hardware, neat stitching, clear Chloé branding and a zip that runs smoothly. On vintage Paddingtons, serial or date details can vary, so authenticity should always be judged as a whole rather than by one feature alone. This item has been professionally authenticated by A Retro Tale.

Q: What is the condition of this particular bag?
A: This bag is in very good condition overall. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. It is finished in beige leather with brass hardware and a brown canvas lining.

Q: What is included, and how should I care for it?
A: This item includes a padlock and key. For day-to-day care, wipe the leather gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid harsh cleaners and excess moisture, and store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag away from direct heat and sunlight.
