Christian DiorTrotter Saddle Tote Bag

Q: What will this bag hold day to day?
A: With approximate measurements of 32 × 19 × 9 cm and an 18 cm handle drop, it comfortably fits a large smartphone, small wallet or cardholder, sunglasses case, keys, a small cosmetics pouch and an e‑reader or iPad mini. It will not fit A4 documents or a 13-inch laptop; some slim 10–11-inch tablets may fit horizontally if they are not in a bulky case. Capacity varies with how you pack.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The dual flat leather straps and 18 cm drop are designed for shoulder carry or the crook of the arm. It is not intended for crossbody wear.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The flap secures with velcro. For extra security, place valuables in the internal zipped pocket and avoid overfilling so the flap lies flat and the velcro fastens fully.

Q: How should I care for the Dior Trotter jacquard canvas and leather trim?
A: Brush away dust with a dry microfibre cloth. For light marks on canvas, spot clean gently using lukewarm water with a little mild soap, then blot dry—do not soak or scrub. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives. Nourish the leather trim sparingly with a suitable conditioner. Store the bag loosely stuffed, in its dust bag, away from direct sunlight and humidity.

Q: Is the canvas water-resistant?
A: The jacquard canvas is durable but not waterproof. If it gets caught in light rain, wipe it dry promptly. Avoid waterproofing sprays unless you have patch‑tested in an inconspicuous area first.

Q: The velcro has picked up lint. How do I clean it safely?
A: Hold the bag steady and use a fine-tooth comb, lint brush or tweezers to lift trapped fibres from the hook side of the velcro, working in one direction. Take care not to snag surrounding fabric.

Q: Where is the Dior date code and what does it mean on vintage pieces?
A: It is typically located on or behind the small interior leather tag with the heat stamp, often inside a pocket. Vintage Dior codes combine letters and numbers indicating factory and production period, but formats vary by era. A date code alone does not guarantee authenticity.

Q: How does the Saddle Tote compare with the classic Saddle bag?
A: The Saddle Tote retains the curved flap but offers a roomier body and dual shoulder straps, providing more capacity and easier daily use than the classic Saddle, which is more compact with a single short strap.

Q: What items are included with this listing?
A: All inclusions are shown under product information. For this item, a dust bag is included.

Q: How is authenticity guaranteed?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale is checked by in‑house experts using multi‑point inspection of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and date codes. Additional product information or photos can be provided on request.
