Q: What does Gucci size 85 mean and will it fit me?
A: Gucci belt sizes are measured to the centre hole. A size 85 is 85 cm (about 33.5 in) from the buckle edge to the middle hole, with neighbouring holes giving a few centimetres of adjustment. For best results, measure your waist or hips at the point you’ll wear the belt and match that measurement to 85 cm.

Q: Should I choose a different size for wearing on the waist versus the hips?
A: Yes. If you plan to wear the belt on the waist, many people go one size down compared with a hip fit. Always measure at the intended wearing point; if you’re between sizes, sizing up is usually safer and you can use the extra holes for fine-tuning.

Q: What is the strap width and will it fit standard belt loops?
A: The strap is approximately 3 cm wide, which fits most standard trouser and jeans loops. If your loops are unusually narrow or wide, measure them to be sure.

Q: Is the Interlocking G belt unisex?
A: Yes. Gucci belt sizing is based on body measurement rather than gender. Choose the size that matches your waist or hip measurement and the width you prefer for your outfits.

Q: Is this belt reversible or is the buckle removable?
A: This vintage piece is a single-sided black leather strap with a gold‑tone Interlocking G buckle and is not listed as reversible. It is intended to be worn as shown in the photos.

Q: How many holes are there and can I add more?
A: Gucci belts commonly feature multiple holes for adjustment (many styles have five, some have three). Hole spacing is typically around 2.5 cm. Some boutiques may add a limited number of holes as a courtesy, and a professional cobbler can also add holes. Policies vary by location, and any modification may affect future brand aftercare, so we recommend consulting a professional rather than DIY.

Q: How should I care for the leather and hardware?
A: Wipe the leather gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid water, oils, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Keep the belt away from prolonged sunlight or heat. Store it flat or loosely rolled in a breathable dust bag. For the gold‑tone buckle, use a clean, dry cloth only to avoid damaging the plating.

Q: What authenticity details should I expect on a Gucci Interlocking G belt?
A: Genuine belts typically have a clean interior heat stamp with GUCCI and Made in Italy, plus a serial code stamped into the reverse of the strap. Hardware should feel solid with smooth, well‑finished edges, and stitching should be neat and consistent. Every item at A Retro Tale is authenticated through multi‑point checks before listing.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the belt is listed under the product information on this page. If you need clarification, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
