HermèsBirkin 35 Togo Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Birkin 35?
A: As a spacious tote (approx. 35 × 27 × 20 cm), it comfortably holds a 13-inch laptop in a slim sleeve, a tablet, a diary, a cosmetic pouch, a wallet and daily essentials. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions and pack with weight distribution in mind.

Q: Does the Birkin 35 have a shoulder or crossbody strap?
A: No. The classic Birkin is designed to be carried by its dual rolled handles in the hand or on the forearm; it does not come with a shoulder strap or built-in strap rings. Rare special versions exist, but they are not the standard design.

Q: Will a 13-inch laptop fit inside this Birkin 35?
A: In most cases yes, provided the laptop is in a slim sleeve and placed horizontally. For comfort and to protect the structure, avoid overloading and consider keeping the flap open when carrying larger items.

Q: How heavy is a Birkin 35 in Togo leather?
A: Empty weights vary by leather and hardware, but a Birkin 35 typically falls around 1.0–1.3 kg. Togo examples are often reported near 1.05 kg, while some listings cite up to about 1.25 kg.

Q: What is Hermès Togo leather like?
A: Togo is a grained calfskin introduced in the late 1990s. It is prized for its fine to medium pebble grain, natural scratch resistance and balanced structure that softens slightly with wear, making it a popular everyday choice for Birkin 35.

Q: Does Togo leather slouch over time on a Birkin 35?
A: Yes, with use Togo can develop a gentle, relaxed slouch—more noticeable on larger sizes like the 35. Many owners appreciate this look; to maintain shape, store the bag stuffed when not in use and avoid prolonged heavy loads.

Q: How should I care for Togo leather day to day?
A: Keep the bag away from water, oils, heat and prolonged direct light. If it gets wet, wipe immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use commercial leather products; instead, store it in a temperate, dry place in its dust cover, lightly stuffed to support its silhouette, and avoid overloading or sharp, irregular items.

Q: Can Hermès restore or refresh this bag (Hermès Spa)?
A: Yes. Hermès offers maintenance and repair services and will assess each piece individually. Official servicing helps preserve originality; third‑party alterations can affect future eligibility, so discuss any work with Hermès beforehand.

Q: What does the stamp Square E (2001) mean?
A: It indicates the bag was produced in 2001. From 1997–2014 Hermès used a letter inside a square as the year code; E in a square corresponds to 2001.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This example comes with a padlock, keys and clochette. Everything included is listed under the Accessories section on this page; if you have questions about any specific item, please contact us for confirmation.
