HermèsClemence Trim 31 Hobo Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Trim 31?
A: With approximate dimensions of 31 × 22 × 8 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, smartphone, keys, sunglasses case, a compact cosmetics pouch, an A5 diary, and a small tablet (up to around 11 inches without a bulky case). Slim A4 papers may slide in diagonally, but rigid folders are not recommended. Capacity varies with how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can this vintage Trim 31 be worn crossbody?
A: It is designed as a shoulder bag. The strap is adjustable for drop, but at approximately 20 cm it is generally not long enough for true crossbody wear. Some owners have tried extensions on older Trims, but even add-on pieces typically do not create a comfortable crossbody length.

Q: How secure is the closure on this model?
A: This earlier-generation Trim uses the classic clip/clasp closure at the top, fastening to a side ring for everyday security. For small valuables, use the exterior zipped pocket. This specific piece does not have a top zip; closure style can vary across Trim generations.

Q: What is Hermès Clémence leather like in daily use?
A: Clémence is a softly grained, matte calf/baby bull leather known for its supple hand and relaxed drape. It can feel a bit weightier than more structured leathers, develops a gentle slouch over time, and the grain helps minimise the visibility of light surface marks; corners can show wear with heavy use.

Q: How should I care for Clémence leather on a vintage bag?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use, keep it away from oils and prolonged direct sunlight, and avoid heavy rain—blot dry promptly if it gets damp. Store upright in a breathable dust bag, lightly stuffed to support the hobo shape. For deep cleaning, colour touch-ups or structural work, consider Hermès’ official after‑sales service; third‑party work may affect future brand servicing.

Q: What does the circle F blind stamp mean on this bag?
A: A circle with the letter F indicates Hermès production in 1976. The circle‑letter system was used from 1971 to 1996, with each letter corresponding to a calendar year.

Q: Is the Trim model still produced?
A: This piece is from an earlier generation of the Trim. Hermès has released updated versions over the years (often referred to as Trim II and other modern iterations). Current availability and exact configurations vary by season and boutique.

Q: Can Hermès replace or lengthen the strap on a vintage Trim?
A: Hermès may repair or replace components such as straps subject to an in‑person assessment; services are not guaranteed and depend on feasibility and materials. Lengthening to crossbody is not typically offered on vintage Trims, and third‑party alterations may lead Hermès to refuse future service.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This listing is sold as shown with no accessories. Everything included is stated under the Accessories section; if an item like a dust bag or box is not listed there, it is not included.
