Q: What typically fits in the Alma PM?
A: With approximate measurements of 31 × 25 × 17 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, phone, small tablet (around 9 inches), keys, sunglasses, a compact umbrella and a small cosmetics pouch. Capacity varies by how you pack—please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Does it come with a shoulder strap?
A: The Alma PM is designed primarily as a handheld bag. A separate Louis Vuitton strap can be attached to the metal handle mounts on many Alma PM models, but a strap is not included with this piece unless stated in the product information. The handle drop is approximately 9 cm for hand or crook-of-arm carry.

Q: Will it fit A4/US Letter documents or a 13-inch laptop?
A: No. A4 or US Letter documents and 13-inch laptops are generally too tall to fit flat and zip comfortably in the Alma PM. This size is best for compact daily essentials rather than full-size documents or laptops.

Q: Is Damier Ebene canvas rain-friendly?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is known for durability and general water resistance, but the brand advises keeping all leather goods away from water. If the surface gets wet, gently blot with a light-coloured, lint-free cloth and allow to air dry.

Q: How should I care for and store this bag?
A: Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat, moisture, perfumes and cosmetics. Wipe exterior surfaces gently with a soft cloth when needed. When not in use, store the bag loosely stuffed to maintain shape and place it in its dust bag in a cool, dry space.

Q: What does the date code FL0046 indicate?
A: FL denotes a French workshop. For codes used from 1990–2006, the first and third digits show the month and the second and fourth digits show the year. 0 and 4 indicate April; 0 and 6 indicate 2006—so this piece was made in France in April 2006.

Q: Does this listing include a lock and keys?
A: New Alma PM bags typically come with a padlock and key bell, but inclusions vary on pre-loved pieces. Everything that comes with this bag is listed under product information; if an item is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How is the bag structured on the base?
A: The Alma PM has a structured base with protective metal feet to help it stand upright and reduce wear on the corners.

Q: What is the interior like in this piece?
A: This item features a red canvas lining with two internal slip pockets, ideal for a phone and small essentials. Please see the photos and product information for the exact layout and condition.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts through multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, heat-stamps and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share further details on request.
