Q: What fits inside this Louis Vuitton Epi Alma PM Bag?
A: This Alma PM is a practical everyday size. With measurements of approximately 31 x 23 x 15 cm, it should comfortably hold daily essentials such as a phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, and other compact necessities. As always, capacity depends on how you organise your items, so please refer to the Measurements on this page for the most accurate guide.

Q: Is the Alma PM a shoulder bag or a handheld bag?
A: The Alma PM is best known as a structured top-handle bag. This piece is designed to be carried by hand or on the arm, and the handle drop is approximately 10 cm. Some Alma PM versions can also be worn with a strap if one is added separately, but for this specific item, only the product information listed on this page should be considered included.

Q: Does this bag come with a strap?
A: No shoulder strap is listed in the product information for this item. The included product information is padlock, keys, and clochette. If an accessory is not listed there, it should not be considered included.

Q: What are the benefits of Louis Vuitton Epi leather?
A: Epi leather is one of Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable materials, appreciated for its structured feel, textured finish, and strong day-to-day durability. Many buyers choose it because it is generally more resistant to visible scratches and wear than smoother leathers, while still offering a refined and understated look.

Q: How should I care for this vintage Epi leather bag?
A: Epi leather is relatively low-maintenance, but it should still be treated with care. Gently wipe the surface with a soft, light-coloured cloth, avoid soap or solvents, and keep the bag away from heat, humidity, direct sunlight, grease, perfume, make-up, and alcohol-based products such as hand sanitiser. When not in use, store it carefully to help preserve its shape and finish.

Q: What does the date code BA0154 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes indicate where and when a bag was made, but they are not unique serial numbers. The code BA0154 follows the later two-letter, four-digit format used by Louis Vuitton, with BA indicating the production facility and the numbers corresponding to the production week and year. On this bag, the code points to production in France in 2014, which aligns with the country of origin label on this listing.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This item is listed in Very Good Condition, with light traces of use. The exterior and interior are both noted as very good, and the hardware is described as shiny with light scratches. This means the bag presents well overall, with gentle signs of previous wear that are normal for a pre-owned luxury item.

Q: How do you authenticate Louis Vuitton bags?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury items are carefully vetted for authenticity. Authentication typically involves checking details such as materials, construction, stitching, hardware, date code format, stamps, and overall consistency with the model. The date code is one helpful indicator, but it is never the only factor used to assess authenticity.

Q: Is the Alma PM a good everyday bag?
A: Yes, the Alma PM is widely considered one of Louis Vuitton’s classic everyday silhouettes. Its structured shape, secure zip-top closure, protective bottom studs, and practical interior make it a popular choice for daily use, especially for those who want a polished top-handle bag with enough room for essentials.
