Louis VuittonDamier Graphite Laptop Case, size 15-Inch

Q: Will a 15-inch laptop fit in this case?
A: The interior measures approximately 34 × 24 × 2 cm, so it is best suited to slim 15-inch devices. As a guide, the 15-inch MacBook Air is about 34.04 × 23.76 cm and should fit snugly, while the 15-inch MacBook Pro (2016 generation) is about 34.93 × 24.07 cm and may be too tight. Please measure your device (and any hard shell) before purchase to ensure a comfortable fit.

Q: Is this a padded sleeve designed for drops?
A: This is a slim, structured laptop case in coated canvas with a textile lining and a zip closure. It offers everyday protection from scuffs and scratches when carried by hand or inside a larger bag, but it is not a shock-absorbing case. For extra impact protection, consider adding a thin padded insert.

Q: Does it have a shoulder strap or handles?
A: No. The Pochette Jour GM is designed to be hand-carried like a portfolio or slipped inside a briefcase or tote. There are no D-rings for a strap and no top handles.

Q: What else can it hold besides a laptop?
A: It comfortably carries A4 documents, a slim notebook or tablet, and flat daily essentials alongside a slender charger, subject to your device’s size. This specific piece has one main compartment without extra pockets, so it is ideal for flat items.

Q: What is the material and colourway?
A: It is crafted from Louis Vuitton’s Damier Graphite coated canvas with silver-tone hardware and a black textile lining. Coated canvas is durable and designed for frequent use while keeping weight low.

Q: How should I care for Damier Graphite coated canvas?
A: Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth (a little mild soapy water if needed), avoid solvents and alcohol-based products, and keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Do not overpack, and store in a cool, ventilated place when not in use. Printed canvas can be susceptible to abrasion at high-wear points (such as corners), so avoid rubbing against rough surfaces.

Q: What does the date code TJ4126 mean?
A: In Louis Vuitton’s date code system used before 2021, the letters show the country and factory, and the numbers show when it was made. TJ indicates a French factory, and 4126 decodes to the 42nd week of 2016. Note that a date code does not itself authenticate an item; Louis Vuitton phased out date codes in favour of embedded microchips from 2021.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the piece is listed under product information on this page. This particular item is sold without extras unless specifically stated there.

Q: How do you authenticate this item?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi-point inspection by our in-house experts, reviewing materials, stitching, hardware, heat stamps, and date codes where applicable. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share additional photos or details on request.

Q: What are the exact external measurements of this model?
A: This piece measures approximately 34 × 24 × 2 cm. Similar Pochette Jour GM listings typically show around 33–34 cm in width and about 24 cm in height, which aligns with our measurements; capacity will vary slightly with your device’s thickness.
