Louis VuittonMonogram Flap Card Holder

Q: What fits inside the Louis Vuitton Monogram Flap Card Holder?
A: With measurements of approximately 11.5 x 8.5 x 1 cm, this piece is best suited to a small edit of essentials such as cards, folded notes, receipts and ID. Its slim format is ideal for light everyday use rather than coins or bulky contents.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: This vintage card holder features Monogram canvas on the outside and a brown leather-lined interior with two window pockets in a bi-fold format. It is a practical choice if you like to keep cards or identification neatly separated.

Q: Will it fit in a pocket or small bag?
A: Yes, this is a compact style designed to slip easily into a coat pocket, blazer pocket or smaller handbag. If fully packed, it may feel a little snug in very slim trouser pockets.

Q: Is this a good everyday wallet alternative?
A: Yes, if you prefer a minimalist setup. It works well for a few cards and folded cash, but it is not the best option if you need to carry coins, many cards or bulkier daily essentials.

Q: What does the date code CA0936 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes from this era use two letters for the place of manufacture and four digits for the production date. CA indicates Spain, and 0936 corresponds to March 1996.

Q: Is this item considered vintage?
A: Yes. Based on the date code, this card holder was made in 1996, which places it firmly in the vintage category.

Q: What condition is this card holder in?
A: The exterior is listed as Very Good with scuffed corners, while the interior is listed as Good with light traces of use and slight marks. As with most vintage small leather goods, gentle signs of age are normal and part of the piece’s character.

Q: Are any original extras included?
A: No original extras are included with this item. Please refer to the product information on this page for exactly what is included with your purchase.

Q: How should I care for Monogram canvas and the leather lining?
A: Wipe the canvas gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid overfilling, and keep it away from direct heat, moisture and prolonged sunlight. When not in use, store it flat in a breathable pouch or dust bag to help preserve its shape and finish.

Q: How do you check authenticity on a vintage Louis Vuitton piece like this?
A: At A Retro Tale, each item is checked by in-house experts using brand-specific details such as materials, construction, stamps and date codes. For vintage Louis Vuitton, the date code is useful, but it should always be considered alongside the overall craftsmanship and details of the piece.
