Q: What is this Prada hair clip made of and how big is it?
A: It is crafted from black resin with gold‑tone metal hardware and rhinestone stud embellishments. It measures approximately 7 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width. As a vintage piece, minor signs of wear are normal and noted as very light in this example.

Q: Will it hold my hair securely if my hair is thick or very fine?
A: At around 7 cm, it’s ideal for half‑up styles or securing sections. For very thick hair, use it as an accent on smaller sections or over a pre‑tied pony/half‑up. For very fine or slick hair, add texture with dry shampoo or texturising spray, lightly backcomb where you’ll place the clip, and anchor with two criss‑crossed bobby pins under the clip for extra grip.

Q: Can I wear it in the rain, shower, or at the gym?
A: Avoid moisture and perspiration. Water, perfume, hairspray, and lotions can dull crystal brilliance and may affect adhesives or metal finishes. If the clip gets slightly damp, pat it dry gently and allow it to air dry completely before storing.

Q: Is it safe to use heat tools while wearing the clip?
A: Remove the clip before blow‑drying, curling, or straightening. Prolonged heat and direct sunlight can warp resin and weaken the adhesive securing rhinestones or affect the gold‑tone finish.

Q: How should I clean it without damaging the rhinestones?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint‑free cloth. Do not soak or immerse the clip. Keep moisture and cleaning solutions away from rhinestones and metal parts. Avoid alcohol, acetone, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive cloths. If needed, you may very lightly wipe the resin areas only with a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately.

Q: Will the stones fall out, and can they be replaced?
A: With normal careful use, stones remain secure; avoid knocks and snagging to protect settings and adhesive. If a rhinestone is lost, most costume‑jewellery repairers can source and set a suitable replacement. We recommend professional repair rather than DIY for best results on vintage pieces.

Q: Is the gold‑tone hardware real gold?
A: Gold‑tone describes the colour or a thin plated finish applied over a base metal; it is not solid gold. To preserve the finish, avoid contact with moisture, fragrance, and cosmetics, and store the clip separately from other metal items.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: This item is sold as pictured with no accessories. Anything included will be listed under Accessories; if it’s not listed, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this piece?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, examining materials, construction, hardware, and branding details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional photos or information on request.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
A: The clip primarily contacts hair, but metal components may contain common alloys beneath the gold‑tone finish. If you have known metal sensitivities (e.g., nickel), avoid prolonged skin contact and discontinue use if irritation occurs; consult a healthcare professional if needed.
