Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Manhattan Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 29 × 21 × 7.5 cm, it’s ideal for essentials: a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and an A5 diary. A compact tablet (e.g., iPad mini) generally fits comfortably; A4 documents do not lie flat due to the 21 cm height. For a tailored fit check on your specific items, just ask and we’ll test this exact piece.

Q: Will it fit an 11‑inch tablet or a laptop?
A: An 11‑inch tablet may fit without a bulky case, but access can be snug because of the structured flap. Standard 13‑inch laptops are typically too large for this silhouette. If you’d like, we can perform a quick fit test for your device.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: This piece has a single flat shoulder strap with an approximate 32 cm drop. It is not designed to be adjusted or removed and is intended for shoulder carry rather than crossbody wear.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The Manhattan features a sleek magnetic clip closure that offers good everyday security while keeping the profile streamlined. For commuting, we recommend keeping the bag upright and placing valuables in the interior pocket.

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: This bag is lined in tonal leather and features one main compartment with one internal pocket—simple, refined and easy to organise. Our listing photos show the exact layout of this piece.

Q: Does the Manhattan have the large interlaced YSL logo?
A: No. The Manhattan is intentionally minimalist. Branding is subtle, typically with a discreet “SAINT LAURENT PARIS” engraving on the clasp rather than a large exterior logo.

Q: What materials and hardware does this item have, and where is it made?
A: This specific piece is crafted in dark green smooth calfskin with gold‑tone hardware and is labelled Made in Italy. The Manhattan line is known for its clean structure and refined metal fittings.

Q: How should I care for the smooth calfskin and hardware?
A: Keep the leather away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and be mindful of colour transfer from denim or dark fabrics. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and use a high‑quality neutral conditioner very sparingly (test first on a discreet area). Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in a breathable dust bag; avoid overfilling and pad hardware or use a soft cloth to minimise hairline scratches and impressions.

Q: Is the Manhattan line still produced?
A: The Manhattan is a recent House style and continues to appear in Saint Laurent collections, though details (sizes, straps and finishes) may vary by season. Availability of specific configurations like this dark green version is best checked on the pre‑loved market.

Q: Where are the brand markings and serial/date codes located?
A: Authentic Saint Laurent bags usually feature a blind‑stamp logo inside and a discreet serial/date code—commonly on a small interior leather tab or behind the interior logo panel. Placement and format can vary by era and model; we’re happy to share close‑ups for this exact piece on request.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Listed accessories for this item are: dust bag, authenticity card and brand booklets. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps/serials and overall construction—we stand behind the authenticity of every piece we sell.
