A slim notebook or diary may also fit. Capacity depends on how you pack and the internal layout, so please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

A: This model is designed as a handheld top handle bag with dual top handles. There is no separate shoulder strap listed in the product information.

Q: How should I care for the patent leather to keep the shine?
A: Wipe after use with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives. Keep away from prolonged heat or humidity, which can affect the glossy finish. For deeper cleaning, test any patent-specific cleaner on an inconspicuous area first or consult a professional leather care specialist.

Q: How can I prevent colour transfer on patent leather?
A: Patent leather can pick up dye from dark denim and other coloured materials. Store the bag individually in a breathable dust bag, avoid prolonged contact with dark fabrics, and do not press it tightly against other items for long periods. If light marks occur, gently wipe and allow the bag to rest before attempting any further cleaning.

Q: The exterior shows fine scratches and small cracks—are these normal for vintage patent leather?
A: Yes, light surface scratches and occasional hairline cracks can develop on vintage patent leather with age and use. To help slow further wear, avoid overfilling, minimise bending or folding of the leather, and store the bag stuffed lightly to support its shape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Q: What should I do if the patent leather becomes sticky over time?
A: Stickiness can result from heat, humidity, or product residue on the patent finish. Move the bag to a cool, dry environment, gently wipe with a slightly damp microfibre cloth, then dry thoroughly. If tackiness persists, seek advice from a professional leather care service and avoid solvent-based DIY methods.

Q: Do vintage Saint Laurent bags have serial numbers, and where might it be located?
A: Many Saint Laurent bags have a serial or date code on or behind the interior logo panel or inside a pocket. Vintage formats often include a 12-digit number separated by a dot, while newer formats may combine letters and numbers. Some older vintage pieces may not have a serial number at all, and absence alone does not determine authenticity.
