Saint LaurentYves Hobo Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Saint Laurent Yves Hobo Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 39 x 25 x 5 cm, it will usually fit daily essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch and other slim items. Its profile is quite slim, so it is better suited to essentials than bulky items or a laptop.

Q: Can this bag be worn comfortably on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The bag has a single flat shoulder strap with an approximate 20 cm drop, which is designed for shoulder carry. The fit may feel a little closer under the arm when worn with heavier outerwear.

Q: Does the bag close securely, and how is it organised inside?
A: Yes. It features a zip closure for added security. Inside, it has a black fabric lining and one internal pocket for keeping smaller essentials organised.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage bag?
A: It is rated Very Good condition overall. The exterior shows light traces of use and some discolouration from wear, the interior shows light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: How should I care for the beige leather?
A: Beige leather is elegant but benefits from a little extra care. We recommend storing the bag in its dust bag, lightly stuffing it when not in use, avoiding dark denim or heavily dyed fabrics that may transfer colour, and keeping it away from prolonged direct sunlight, rain and rough surfaces. For cleaning, use a soft dry cloth and consult a leather specialist for anything more than light surface care.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: The listed product information for this item include a dust bag. Unless another item is specifically stated on this page, it is not included.

Q: Is this an authentic vintage Saint Laurent bag, and where was it made?
A: This is a vintage Saint Laurent piece, and the country of origin label states France. As with all items sold by A Retro Tale, it has been professionally authenticated before being offered for sale.

Q: Is this a good everyday shoulder bag?
A: Yes, if you prefer a sleek, lightweight silhouette for daily essentials. Its hobo shape sits neatly on the shoulder and works well for day-to-evening use, though the slim 5 cm depth means it is not intended for carrying heavier or oversized items.

Q: Will it fit A4 papers or a laptop?
A: It is not the best choice for a laptop, and A4 items may be awkward depending on their thickness and how structured they are. The width is generous at 39 cm, but the 25 cm height and 5 cm depth make it more suitable for smaller everyday belongings.

Q: How do you authenticate pre-owned Saint Laurent bags?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by in-house experts using detailed checks of materials, construction, stitching, hardware, stamps and overall consistency with the model. We stand behind the authenticity of every item we sell.
