Q: Is this the classic medium size?
A: Yes. This is the Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap Bag, measuring approximately 25.5 x 16 x 7 cm. It is the iconic medium format, known for balancing day-to-evening practicality with a structured, elegant shape.

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Classic Medium Double Flap Bag?
A: It comfortably fits daily essentials such as a phone, compact wallet or card holder, keys, lipstick, and other small items. Because this is a structured double-flap design, it usually holds slightly less than the outer dimensions suggest, so bulky purses, large sunglasses cases, or tablets are unlikely to fit comfortably.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: This style is usually best worn on the shoulder. The listed strap drop is approximately 22 cm doubled and 40 cm single, which gives a comfortable shoulder carry for most people. On a very petite frame it may sit high crossbody, but for most adults it is not considered a true crossbody fit.

Q: Why does this bag have a double flap?
A: The double flap is one of the defining features of the classic medium style. It adds structure, helps the bag keep its shape, and creates the layered interior that collectors often associate with the most iconic Chanel flap construction.

Q: What is the exterior back pocket for?
A: The rear slip pocket is useful for slim items you want quick access to, such as a card, receipt, parking ticket, or other flat essentials. To help preserve the bag’s silhouette, it is best not to overstuff this pocket.

Q: Is jersey a delicate material?
A: Jersey is a beautiful vintage textile, but it is generally more delicate and higher-maintenance than Chanel leather finishes. It may attract lint, show light rubbing, or develop small signs of friction wear over time, so it is best suited to careful use rather than heavy daily wear.

Q: How should I care for vintage quilted jersey?
A: Handle it with clean hands, avoid rough surfaces and heavy rain, and keep it away from dark fabrics that may transfer colour. Store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and heat, so the shape stays supported and the fabric remains fresh.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This piece is listed in very good vintage condition, with light traces of use to both the exterior and interior. The hardware remains shiny and shows light surface scratches. As with all vintage pieces, reviewing the product images is the best way to appreciate the exact finish and wear.

Q: What is included with this bag, and how is it authenticated?
A: This listing includes the serial number noted in the product information. No box, authenticity card, or other extras are listed in the product information, so they should not be assumed to be included. At A Retro Tale, all items are carefully authenticated through detailed checks of materials, construction, hardware, stamps, and serial details.
