Q: Are these suitable for non‑pierced ears?
A: Yes. They feature a classic clip‑on closure designed for non‑pierced lobes. The 2 × 2 cm size in lightweight resin makes them easy to wear for most ears.

Q: Will clip‑on earrings feel tight? How can I improve comfort?
A: Clip‑ons can feel snug if the tension is high. You can add small silicone cushions to the backs, take short breaks during long wear, and ensure the clip sits on the fleshiest part of the lobe. If needed, a jeweller can fine‑tune the hinge tension for a gentler grip—please avoid forcing the clip yourself on vintage pieces.

Q: Can these clip‑ons be adjusted?
A: Minor adjustment is possible, but it should be done carefully to avoid stressing the vintage hardware. We recommend consulting a professional jeweller for hinge or screw‑back tension adjustments rather than DIY bending.

Q: Can clip‑on earrings be converted to pierced posts?
A: Many clip‑ons can be converted by a skilled jeweller, but altering Chanel vintage jewellery may affect collectability and resale value. If you’re considering conversion, seek advice from a specialist and keep all original parts.

Q: What does “Camellia” signify at Chanel?
A: The camellia is an emblem of the House and one of Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite motifs, celebrated for its pure, graphic shape and symbolism. These earrings interpret the flower with a CC logo at the centre.

Q: What does “Coco Mark” mean in the name?
A: “Coco Mark” is a widely used term in the Japanese luxury market referring to Chanel’s interlocking CC logo. In this piece, the CC sits within the camellia design.

Q: How should I care for resin and gold‑tone finishes?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid alcohol, acetone, ultrasonic cleaners and abrasive cloths; keep away from perfume, hairspray, lotions, saltwater and prolonged heat or direct sunlight (which can dull or yellow resin). Store individually in a soft pouch to prevent scratches to the gold‑tone hardware.

Q: Are there Chanel signatures or stamps on vintage earrings?
A: Many Chanel earrings carry a small signature plaque or cartouche (often oval) noting CHANEL and sometimes the country of manufacture and season. Placement varies by era and design, and some authentic pieces may have different layouts. We’re happy to provide close‑ups of any stamps visible on this item.

Q: What are the key details of this pair?
A: Pink and cream resin with gold‑tone hardware; camellia flower with CC logo; clip‑on closure; approx. 2 × 2 cm; made in France; vintage. Condition is very good with minor marks on hardware; the hardware is shiny with light scratches as noted in the condition report.

Q: What is included with the purchase?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. If an item such as a box or pouch is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this piece?
A: Every item is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, hardware, stamps and era‑consistent details. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.
