GivenchyHeart Rhinestone Clip-on Earrings

Q: Are these Givenchy Heart Rhinestone Clip‑on Earrings authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What are they made from? Are the stones real diamonds or the metal solid gold?
A: These are vintage Givenchy fashion jewellery earrings crafted in gold‑tone plated metal and set with clear rhinestones. The rhinestones are decorative glass/crystal simulants—not diamonds—and the metal is not solid gold.

Q: Do I need pierced ears? Can clip‑ons be worn if I have piercings?
A: Clip‑ons are designed for non‑pierced ears, but many people with pierced ears enjoy them for styling or comfort. They sit on the earlobe without a post and are easy to put on and remove.

Q: How secure and comfortable are the clips? Can the tension be adjusted?
A: Givenchy vintage earrings typically use hinged clips that feel secure when properly tensioned. You can add soft comfort pads to reduce pressure, and a jeweller can usually fine‑tune spring tension if needed. Always check they are fully clipped before wear and avoid tugging on the earrings.

Q: What are the measurements and will they feel heavy?
A: They are listed at approximately 2.5 cm (height) x 0.5 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (depth). They offer a noticeable yet wearable presence. If you’d like the exact gram weight or on‑ear photos for scale, contact us and we’ll provide them.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect on vintage Givenchy earrings?
A: Vintage Givenchy pieces are typically signed—common markings include “Givenchy”, sometimes “Givenchy Paris New York”, and later collections may feature the 4G logo. Signatures are often on the reverse or on the clip arm. Please refer to our close‑up photos for the stamps on this pair.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone finish and rhinestones?
A: Keep them dry and avoid perfume, hairspray, lotions and hand sanitiser. After wear, wipe gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not soak or use ultrasonic cleaners—moisture can seep behind foil‑backed stones and dull their sparkle. Store them individually in a pouch or box to prevent scratches.

Q: Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Are they nickel‑free?
A: Fashion jewellery alloys and platings may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using clear barrier pads on contact points, limit wear time and discontinue use if irritation occurs. A dermatologist can advise on managing metal sensitivities.

Q: Can clip‑ons be converted to pierced posts or repaired?
A: Many clip‑on earrings can be converted by a competent jeweller or have springs tightened/replaced; however, alterations may affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house modifications but can recommend specialists on request.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included, and can I return them?
A: This pair is in Very Good Condition with light, careful wear possible unless noted otherwise. This listing includes no accessories unless specifically shown or stated. Returns are accepted under our standard policy—please see our Returns page for eligibility, timeframes and conditions, and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
