HermèsBolide 31 Bag

Q: What size is this Hermès Bolide 31, and what typically fits inside?
A: This bag measures approximately 31 x 24 x 12 cm. The 31 size is widely considered a practical day size and should comfortably hold everyday essentials such as a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, small cosmetic pouch, and other daily items. It may also suit a compact tablet or e-reader, depending on the case, but it is not designed for a laptop. Please refer to the Measurements in the product information for the exact dimensions of this item.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This specific bag includes a shoulder strap, and the listed strap drop is approximately 39 cm. For most users, that makes it suitable for shoulder carry. Crossbody fit can vary depending on height and styling preference, so it is best viewed as primarily a handheld or shoulder bag.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: This item includes a shoulder strap, clochette, padlock, and key. For this specific piece, the included items are those listed in the product information.

Q: What does the stamp Cirkel X (1994) mean?
A: The Cirkel X blind stamp indicates a 1994 production year. On Hermès bags, the blind stamp helps date the item, but it should always be considered alongside the bag’s overall craftsmanship, hardware, leather, and construction when assessing authenticity.

Q: What condition is this vintage bag in?
A: This bag is listed in Very Good Condition. The exterior shows signs of wear on the corners and handles, the interior has traces of use such as stuffings and marks to the lining, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with all vintage pieces, minor signs of age and use are part of the bag’s character.

Q: Is the Hermès Bolide 31 a good everyday bag?
A: Yes. The Bolide 31 is one of the most popular sizes for daily use thanks to its structured shape, secure zip-top closure, and balanced capacity. It offers enough room for essentials while still looking refined and easy to carry from day to evening.

Q: How should I care for a vintage Hermès Bolide bag?
A: Store it in a cool, dry place, lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape, and keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Wipe the surface gently with a soft, dry cloth after use. Avoid overloading the bag, and if it needs conditioning or stain treatment, it is safest to use a professional leather specialist experienced with luxury handbags.

Q: Why is the Bolide considered such an iconic Hermès style?
A: The Bolide is one of Hermès’ most historic handbag designs and is closely associated with the house’s early zip-top innovation. Its rounded silhouette, top handles, and elegant yet functional design have made it a long-standing favourite among collectors and everyday users alike.

Q: Does an authentic Hermès bag come with an authenticity card?
A: No. Hermès is not known for issuing handbag authenticity cards in the way some other brands do. Authentication is usually based on the overall consistency of the bag, including stamp details, materials, hardware, stitching, and craftsmanship, rather than a separate card alone.
