Louis VuittonEpi Speedy 25 Bag

Q: What fits inside this Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 25 Bag?
A: This size is ideal for daily essentials. It typically fits a phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch and other compact personal items. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for the exact size of this bag, which is approximately 28 x 20 x 15 cm.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: No, this particular bag is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm. It does not come with a shoulder strap, and the handle drop is approximately 10 cm.

Q: Is Epi leather durable for everyday use?
A: Yes, Epi leather is known for its structured feel and textured finish, which makes it a practical choice for regular use. It is generally more resistant to everyday wear than many smoother leathers, while still benefiting from careful handling and storage.

Q: How should I care for vintage Epi leather?
A: Wipe the surface gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, oils, alcohol-based products and excessive moisture. Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and avoid contact with highly pigmented materials that may cause colour transfer.

Q: What does the date code V.I. 1901 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes indicate the place and date of production rather than acting as a unique serial number. Based on the code format, V.I. 1901 points to production in France in January 1991. As with all Louis Vuitton pieces, the date code should be considered one part of authentication rather than proof on its own.

Q: What accessories are included with this bag?
A: This item includes a padlock. Everything included is listed in the product information, so if another accessory is not mentioned there, it is not included with this piece.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This bag is listed in good condition. The exterior shows minor scuffs and marks on the Epi leather and trim, the interior has light traces of use and a vintage smell, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: How do you authenticate this Louis Vuitton bag?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned designer items are carefully assessed for authenticity using details such as materials, construction, hardware, stamps and date codes. For Louis Vuitton, the date code helps indicate when and where the bag was made, but it is always evaluated together with the overall craftsmanship and design details.
