Q: What is the connection between this Louis Vuitton bag and Sharon Stone?
A: The Amfar Three Vanity Star was designed by Sharon Stone as part of a Louis Vuitton line benefiting amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. The model’s name reflects that collaboration.

Q: Is this bag made from leather or canvas?
A: The brown patterned body is Louis Vuitton Monogram coated canvas with leather trim, rather than all-over leather. This bag also features brass hardware, a top zip closure and red microfibre lining with internal pockets.

Q: What are the measurements of this bag?
A: This bag measures 30 cm in height, 30 cm in width and 18 cm in depth. The current strap measurement is listed as 40 cm and adjustable.

Q: Can I wear this bag over the shoulder or crossbody?
A: This model is designed as a shoulder bag and has a single adjustable shoulder strap. Crossbody suitability has not been confirmed for this particular item, so a comfortable crossbody fit cannot be guaranteed.

Q: What can I fit inside this bag?
A: Based on its dimensions, it should accommodate everyday essentials such as a phone, purse, keys and a small cosmetics pouch. The internal pockets help organise smaller belongings. Actual capacity depends on the size of your items and how you pack them; laptop fit has not been confirmed.

Q: What condition is this particular bag in?
A: This vintage, pre-owned bag is graded Good Condition. The exterior has rubbing and scuffing on the leather corners and base, along with watermarks. The interior is in good condition with pen marks, and the hardware shows scratches and discolouration.

Q: Has this bag been authenticated?
A: A Retro Tale’s experts have checked and verified this bag’s authenticity. The product information states that these experts have over 10 years of experience in vintage and luxury bags.

Q: Does this bag come with a dust bag, box or other accessories?
A: No accessories are included, according to the product information. A dust bag, box, padlock, key or any original removable accessory should therefore not be expected with this item.

Q: How should I clean and store this vintage Monogram bag?
A: Gently wipe the coated canvas with a soft, damp cloth and slightly soapy water, keeping moisture away from the leather trim. Avoid oils, alcohol-based products, leather lotions and chemical cleaners. Store the bag in a ventilated area away from direct sunlight, humidity and heat, and avoid overpacking it to help preserve its shape.

Q: Should I avoid rain, and can the existing watermarks be removed?
A: Avoid rain and unnecessary moisture, particularly on the natural leather trim. If it gets wet, blot it promptly with a light-coloured, lint-free, absorbent cloth. Louis Vuitton advises against using solvents or chemical treatments on natural leather, or attempting to clean stains before its patina develops. The existing watermarks are part of this bag’s disclosed condition, and their removal cannot be guaranteed.
