Louis VuittonMonogram Croissant MM Bag

Q: What fits inside the Louis Vuitton Croissant MM?
A: The MM (Moyen Modèle) is the medium size in the Croissant family and creates a perfect balance between style and utility. It comfortably holds a long continental wallet, a large smartphone, keys, sunglasses in a soft case, and a small cosmetics pouch. Due to the tapered crescent shape, bulky items like rigid water bottles may not fit comfortably. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for precise dimensions.

Q: Can I wear the Croissant MM crossbody?
A: The bag is designed primarily as a shoulder bag. It features an adjustable Vachetta leather strap that sits comfortably under the arm or lower on the shoulder. While the strap length can be adjusted via the gold-tone buckle, the drop is typically too short for crossbody wear for most adults. We recommend checking the ‘Measurements Handle’ listed on this page to gauge how it will sit on you.

Q: Is the strap adjustable?
A: Yes, the flat leather shoulder strap is adjustable. You can lengthen or shorten it using the buckle hardware to find the most comfortable shoulder drop for your height.

Q: What materials is this bag made from?
A: This piece is crafted from Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram coated canvas with natural Vachetta cowhide leather trim and strap. The interior is lined with soft red Alcantara (a suede-like microfiber) and features an internal slip pocket.

Q: Is this model still produced?
A: The original Monogram Croissant line is a discontinued vintage collection, making it a highly sought-after style on the pre-loved market. Its popularity has endured due to the resurgence of the baguette and hobo aesthetics.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a secure zip-top closure that follows the curve of the crescent shape. This ensures your belongings stay safe while maintaining the bag's sleek, streamlined silhouette.

Q: How should I care for the Vachetta leather?
A: Vachetta is untreated leather that develops a characteristic honey-coloured patina over time. It is porous and sensitive to water, oils, and direct sunlight. Avoid contact with rain or lotions, and be mindful of colour transfer from dark clothing. As this is a vintage piece with existing patina and wear (as noted in the Condition Report), we recommend gentle handling. Ideally, store it in its dust bag when not in use.

Q: Where is the date code located?
A: On the Croissant MM, the date code is typically stamped into the lining inside the internal flat pocket, often near the seam. If you need assistance locating or reading the code on this specific item, please contact us.

Q: What accessories come with this bag?
A: Any included items are listed under the “Accessories” section on this product page. For this specific listing, a dust bag is included. If an accessory is not mentioned there, it is not part of the sale.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts using multi-point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date codes, and overall construction. We fully stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
