MIU MIUNappa Matelasse Bag

Q: What size is this MIU MIU Nappa Matelassé Bag?
A: This bag measures approximately 25 cm wide, 14 cm high and 6 cm deep, with a handle drop of about 11 cm. It has a compact, structured silhouette that works well for day-to-evening use.

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: With its compact shape, it is best suited to daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder or small wallet, keys, lip products and other small personal items. It is not large enough for bulkier items such as a tablet or water bottle. Please refer to the measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is this a shoulder bag or a handheld bag?
A: This specific piece is designed primarily as a handheld bag with dual top handles. The product information does not list a shoulder strap, so it should be considered a top-handle style rather than a crossbody or shoulder bag.

Q: What material is the bag made from?
A: The bag is crafted from grey matelassé nappa leather with silver-tone hardware and a dark blue fabric lining. Matelassé refers to Miu Miu’s signature padded, textured gathered leather effect, which gives the bag its soft, dimensional look.

Q: What is the closure like?
A: This bag features a top zip closure, which helps keep everyday essentials secure while maintaining the classic compact shape of the design.

Q: What condition is this vintage bag in?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good Condition. The exterior shows corner wear, colour loss and cracking on the handle edges. The interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with all vintage bags, gentle signs of age and wear are to be expected.

Q: Does this bag come with any extras?
A: No. According to the product information, this item comes with no accessories. If you are looking for inclusions such as a dust bag, box, authenticity card or strap, please rely on the product information shown for this item.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country of origin label states Italy, which is consistent with many vintage Miu Miu leather bags.

Q: How should I care for matelassé nappa leather?
A: Nappa leather is soft and luxurious, so it should be handled with care. Store the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, avoid overfilling it, and wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth after use. Because the leather is supple and the bag is vintage, extra care should be taken around the corners and handles.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Miu Miu bags?
A: Authenticity is typically assessed through a combination of construction, leather quality, stitching, logo details, hardware, interior labels and overall craftsmanship. For vintage Miu Miu pieces, included cards or tags can vary, so the absence of extras alone does not determine authenticity. This item has been evaluated as part of A Retro Tale’s authentication process.
