GucciHorsebit Sherry GG Shoulder Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 38 × 24 × 8 cm, it comfortably holds A4 documents, a 13-inch laptop in a slim sleeve, a tablet, long wallet, phone, keys, and small pouches. Capacity varies by how you pack; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Is the strap adjustable, and can I wear it crossbody?
A: The bag features a single flat shoulder strap with an approximate 20 cm drop. It is not adjustable and is designed for shoulder carry (tucked neatly under the arm), rather than crossbody wear.

Q: Will a 14-inch laptop fit?
A: Some slim 14-inch devices may fit, but it will be a tight fit and depends on the laptop’s exact dimensions and your case. A 13-inch laptop fits more comfortably with better zip clearance.

Q: What do the Horsebit and green‑red Web stripe signify?
A: The Horsebit—two rings linked by a bar—is one of Gucci’s most recognisable equestrian motifs, used on handbags since the mid‑20th century. The green‑red Web stripe also draws on equestrian girth straps and has been a house signature for decades. These details underscore the design’s heritage appeal.

Q: What does “Sherry” refer to in vintage Gucci descriptions?
A: “Sherry” is a term commonly used by resellers for certain vintage pieces—often those featuring the green‑red Web stripe from the Accessories era. It isn’t an official current line name, so naming may vary across vintage listings.

Q: What is the material and how should I care for it?
A: This piece is crafted in GG canvas with black leather trim and gold‑tone hardware. Wipe canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Keep leather away from moisture and oils; use a suitable leather cleaner sparingly when needed. Store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct sunlight and humidity, and avoid overfilling to preserve its shape.

Q: What is the condition of this specific item?
A: Overall Very Good. The strap shows visible edge wear, there are slight scuffs at the corners, the hardware is shiny with light scratches, and the interior shows light signs of use—consistent with gentle wear for a vintage piece. Please review all photos for detail.

Q: What is included with my purchase?
A: Everything included is detailed under the Product information section on this page. If an item such as a dust bag or card is not listed there, it is not included. For this listing, no additional items are included.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Gucci bags?
A: Each item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi‑point inspection of materials, stitching, hardware, logos, stamps and overall construction. Note that Gucci serial numbers have varied over time; some older vintage pieces may have different formats or none at all, and there is no official public database to verify a number in isolation. We therefore rely on holistic assessment by our experts.
