Q: What is this necklace made from?
A: This vintage Céline necklace is crafted in gold‑tone metal with colourful enamel charms. Céline fashion jewellery is typically brass with a gold finish rather than solid gold; enamel details provide the colour and shine. This piece is made in Italy.

Q: What is the length and where will it sit when worn?
A: The chain measures about 39 cm in perimeter, which wears as a choker or short, collarbone‑skimming length for most. If you prefer a looser fit, you can add a small extender.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: It fastens with a toggle clasp and is not designed to adjust beyond the clasp point. For extra length, a simple extender chain or a jeweller’s adjustment can be used.

Q: How secure is the toggle clasp in daily wear?
A: A toggle works by passing the bar through a circular ring and letting it sit perpendicular to the opening, which keeps it closed during normal movement. Make sure the bar is fully through the ring and avoid strong pulling; chunkier chains generally keep toggles more secure.

Q: How should I care for the gold‑tone finish?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear; avoid water, perfumes, lotions, hand sanitiser and cleaning agents; remove before showering, swimming or exercising; and store separately in a dry pouch. With time, plating can show wear from friction; a jeweller can re‑plate the surface if you ever want to refresh the finish.

Q: Any special care tips for the enamel charms?
A: Enamel is a glass‑like coating. Avoid knocks or drops, extreme temperature changes and harsh chemicals. Clean gently with a slightly damp, lint‑free cloth, then dry; avoid abrasive polishing and ultrasonic cleaners. Store away from direct sunlight to help preserve the colours.

Q: Will it tarnish or change colour over time?
A: Gold‑plated brass doesn’t tarnish like silver, but the thin gold layer can gradually fade with wear and exposure to moisture or cosmetics, revealing the base metal. Thoughtful wear and storage slow this process, and professional re‑plating is a practical long‑term option.

Q: What hallmarks should I expect on vintage Céline jewellery?
A: Many vintage pieces are stamped CELINE, CELINE PARIS and/or Made in Italy, sometimes with a two‑digit year. Stamps can vary by era and model; we’re happy to share close‑up photos on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the necklace is listed under the product information on this page. If a branded box or pouch is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: How do you authenticate this piece?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, finishing, hallmarks and construction. We fully stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can provide additional details or images on request.
