Q: What fits inside this Céline Macadam Messenger Bag?
A: With dimensions of approximately 23 x 18 x 7 cm, this compact messenger is ideal for daily essentials. It comfortably holds a large smartphone (such as a Pro Max model), a continental wallet, keys, sunglasses in a soft case and a small cosmetics pouch. A small e-reader or iPad Mini may fit, but standard tablets and A4 documents are too large for this silhouette.

Q: Can I wear this bag crossbody?
A: Yes, the single flat shoulder strap is adjustable and features a drop of approximately 51 cm. This length is generally sufficient for comfortable crossbody wear or can be shortened for a classic shoulder carry.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: This practical design features two main zippered compartments, allowing you to separate your valuables effectively. There is also one external pocket, which is perfect for keeping a travel pass or phone within easy reach.

Q: What is the material and hardware finish?
A: This specific piece is crafted from Céline’s signature Macadam canvas—a durable coated canvas featuring the Blason logo pattern—paired with black leather trim. Unlike many vintage Macadam pieces which feature gold-tone accents, this bag is finished with silver-toned hardware for a cooler, more understated look.

Q: How do I care for the Macadam canvas and leather trim?
A: Macadam canvas is robust and water-resistant; simply wipe it gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt. For the black leather trim, avoid exposure to excessive moisture and use a neutral leather conditioner sparingly to maintain its suppleness. Store the bag upright in a breathable dust bag to preserve its shape.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage item?
A: This bag is in Very Good condition with only light traces of use. The Macadam canvas and internal lining are well-preserved, and the silver-toned hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please refer to the detailed condition rating and photos on this page for a closer look at its specific state.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: This Céline messenger bag was manufactured in Italy, a hallmark of the brand’s commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in-house experts. We perform multi-point checks on materials, stitching, hardware, brand markings and overall construction to ensure authenticity. We stand behind the genuineness of all items we sell.

Q: What accessories are included?
A: Any included accessories (such as a dust bag or box) are listed specifically under the “Accessories” section on this page. If an item is not mentioned there (e.g., "no accessories"), it is not included with the purchase.
