Q: What typically fits inside this Céline Macadam Weekend Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 42 × 26 × 22 cm, this bag is best suited to an overnight stay or a light 1–2 day trip. It can usually hold a change of clothes, toiletries, a small pair of shoes, a book or tablet, and everyday essentials. Capacity will vary depending on how you pack, so please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is this bag suitable as cabin luggage?
A: It may work as a compact cabin or overnight bag for many journeys, but airline rules vary significantly by carrier and route. We recommend comparing this bag’s measurements with your airline’s current hand-luggage allowance before travelling.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: No. This piece is designed to be carried by its dual rolled leather handles. There is no shoulder strap listed in the product information, and the handle drop is approximately 15 cm.

Q: What materials and details does this bag feature?
A: This vintage bag features brown Macadam canvas with tan leather trim, brass hardware, dual rolled leather handles, tan leather lining, and a top zip closure with padlock and keys. It is made in Italy.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag comes with a dust bag, padlock, and clochette with keys. Everything included is listed under the product information; if an item is not listed there, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is rated Very Good. There are light traces of use externally, the interior shows light traces of use with light discolouration in the pocket, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with most vintage bags, gentle signs of age are normal.

Q: How should I care for vintage Macadam canvas and leather trim?
A: Wipe the coated canvas gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners, oils, perfume, or abrasive products. The leather trim should be kept away from excessive moisture, heat, and prolonged direct sunlight. When not in use, store the bag in its dust bag and lightly stuff it to help maintain its shape.

Q: Is the Macadam pattern considered a classic Céline design?
A: Yes. The Macadam pattern is one of Céline’s most recognisable vintage motifs and is especially popular among collectors who appreciate understated logo designs and archive-era travel shapes. Its combination of coated canvas and leather trim also makes it a practical everyday vintage choice.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked by specialists using details such as materials, construction, hardware, branding, and overall consistency with the model. We stand behind the authenticity of the items we sell, and the product information on this page reflects the specifics of this piece.
