Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Camellia Patent Tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 31.5 × 24 × 12 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, phone, keys, a small cosmetics pouch, a water bottle, and a tablet. A4 documents fit when placed horizontally or in a slim folder; most 13-inch laptops in a thin sleeve should fit, but please compare your device to the measurements and our photos.

Q: Is it comfortable to carry on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The dual chain-and-patent-leather handles are designed for both hand and shoulder carry. The leather shoulder rests help the bag sit comfortably for day-to-day use.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag features a central magnetic snap that keeps the top neatly closed for everyday use. For commuting or travel, place smaller valuables in the interior pocket or a zipped pouch for added security.

Q: What does the 14****** serial number indicate?
A: Chanel 14-series serial numbers date to approximately 2010–2011. This aligns with the production period noted for this bag.

Q: Does this piece come with an authenticity card or dust bag?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. Chanel bags from this period were originally accompanied by an authenticity card matching the interior serial sticker, but many pre-owned pieces no longer retain all original items. If an item is not listed in the product information, it is not included.

Q: How should I care for the patent leather?
A: Keep patent leather away from prolonged sunlight, heat and humidity, and avoid contact with dark or richly dyed materials to minimise colour transfer. Wipe gently with a soft, dry, non‑pilling cloth only and avoid chemical cleaners. Store upright in its pouch, loosely stuffed, with chains wrapped in tissue and placed inside the bag.

Q: Is patent leather water-resistant?
A: The glossy finish offers some resistance to light rain, but the bag is not waterproof. If it gets wet, blot gently with a soft absorbent cloth and allow it to air dry away from direct heat or sunlight.

Q: What is the significance of the Camellia motif?
A: The camellia is one of Chanel’s signature emblems, celebrated for its clean, geometric curves and timeless elegance across the House’s creations.

Q: How is authenticity guaranteed at A Retro Tale?
A: Every item is carefully vetted by our specialists using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps and serials. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional details on request.

Q: Any tips for caring for the gunmetal‑tone hardware?
A: Avoid abrasive polishes and contact with perfumes or lotions. If needed, gently buff with a dry, soft cloth, and wrap the chains in tissue when storing to prevent marks on the leather.
