Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel CC Tote Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 35 × 27 × 12 cm, it comfortably holds A4 documents, a long wallet, phone, cosmetics pouch, a small water bottle, and most 13‑inch laptops. Slim 14‑inch devices may fit, but please compare your laptop’s dimensions to the measurements on this page to be sure. Avoid over‑stuffing to preserve the quilting and shape.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder or cross‑body?
A: The dual chain‑and‑leather straps have an approximate 33 cm drop, making it an easy shoulder carry over light outerwear. The drop is not long enough for cross‑body wear on most body types.

Q: Is the CC charm removable?
A: On most vintage CC charm totes, the charm is fixed to the strap or a hardware ring and is not designed to be removed. For this specific piece, please refer to our photos or contact us if you’d like us to confirm the attachment style.

Q: What year does the serial number 1739288 indicate?
A: A seven‑digit Chanel serial beginning with 1 typically corresponds to the 1989–1991 production period. Serial numbers help estimate age, but authentication always relies on a combination of details (materials, stamps, stitching, hardware, and construction).

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information section for full transparency. For this piece, that includes a dust bag, authenticity card and serial number tag. If an item isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: How is this bag authenticated?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, examining leather and lining, quilting and stitching density, heat stamps and logos, serial tag and card, hardware engravings, and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: How should I care for Chanel lambskin leather?
A: Lambskin is prized for its softness and should be handled with care. Store the bag stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from light and humidity; avoid oils, solvents and excessive moisture; minimise friction against delicate or dark fabrics to reduce colour transfer; and gently buff light surface marks in small circular motions with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning or corner wear, we recommend a professional bag spa experienced with Chanel lambskin.

Q: Will the red colour transfer onto clothing?
A: As with most richly dyed leathers, some transfer can occur with prolonged rubbing against light fabrics. Allow dark denim and freshly dyed garments to be well‑set before contact, avoid tight friction points, and rotate carry to minimise wear. Wipe the bag clean after use and store properly.

Q: What interior features does this tote have?
A: This piece is lined in red leather and includes one internal zipped pocket to organise daily essentials. Please refer to the photos for the exact interior layout and capacity.

Q: What should I expect from the condition noted?
A: It is in good vintage condition with creasing to the leather, corner scuffing, light scratches to the hardware, small marks to the lining, and a slightly faded logo stamp inside. These signs are consistent with careful use and are reflected in the price and our detailed photography.
