Q: How long is this necklace and can I wear it doubled?
A: The necklace measures approximately 80 cm in perimeter. This length can be styled as a single long strand or comfortably doubled into a shorter, layered look for most necklines. You can also wrap it on the wrist for a multi-strand bracelet depending on fit.

Q: What are the materials of the beads and hardware?
A: Chanel costume jewellery often combines resin or glass beads with gold‑tone plated metal. This piece features red beads with gold‑tone Coco Mark stations and a spring ring clasp. As with most Chanel fashion jewellery, the metal is gold‑tone rather than solid gold.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: The spring ring clasp secures the strand but does not provide multiple built‑in length settings. For a shorter look without altering the piece, you can double‑wrap it or use a removable necklace shortener. Always avoid stressing the beads when adjusting.

Q: How should I care for and store Chanel costume jewellery?
A: Put jewellery on after applying perfume, hairspray, and skincare. Avoid contact with water, humidity, and prolonged sunlight. After wear, wipe gently with a soft dry cloth and store it separately in a pouch or box to prevent scratches and finish wear.

Q: Will the gold‑tone finish tarnish or fade?
A: All plated finishes can show wear over time, particularly with exposure to moisture, cosmetics, or high skin acidity. Proper care—keeping the piece dry, cleaning it gently, and storing it individually—helps preserve the shine and colour.

Q: How can Chanel necklaces be styled?
A: Long Chanel necklaces are designed to be versatile: wear as a single strand, double them for a layered effect, drape down the back with open‑back garments, or wrap around the wrist for a statement bracelet. They also layer well with shorter chains and chokers.

Q: How do you authenticate this piece?
A: A Retro Tale authenticates every item through multi‑point checks of materials, construction, and maker’s marks. Many Chanel necklaces carry era‑specific signature plaques or stamps (often near the clasp), but stamp styles vary by period. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to share further details on request.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. For this piece, a box is included; if an item such as a dust bag or certificate is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Where was this necklace made?
A: The origin label indicates France.
