Q: What is the necklace length and how will it sit when worn?
A: The chain is approximately 43 cm (about 17 in), which typically sits at the collarbone on most wearers. Fit can vary by neck size, so we recommend measuring against a favourite necklace for comparison.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: This necklace closes with a lobster clasp. Minor adjustment is usually possible by fastening into different chain links if available; please refer to the product photos to see the clasp area and any extender links.

Q: What materials is this made from—Is it solid gold?
A: It is Chanel costume jewellery in light gold‑tone metal with a red enamel heart pendant and rhinestone embellishment. Costume pieces are plated over base metal and set with glass crystals; they are not solid precious metal.

Q: How should I care for the enamel and rhinestones?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, dry, non‑pilling cloth after wear. Avoid contact with water, soaps, perfumes, lotions, and household chemicals. Store it separately in a soft pouch, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to preserve the enamel and stones.

Q: Can I wear it in the shower, swimming, or while exercising?
A: We do not recommend it. Moisture, sweat, and heat can dull the finish and may loosen rhinestones over time. Put the necklace on after applying fragrance or make‑up and remove it before any activity that could cause impact or moisture exposure.

Q: Is this piece authentic and how do you verify it?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is authenticated by in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, construction, stamps and plaques, and overall workmanship. Chanel jewellery typically features signature plaques or stamps (e.g., CHANEL, country of origin, and on many pieces a season code); we can share additional stamp photos on request.

Q: Can I tell the production period from the stamp?
A: Often, yes. Many Chanel pieces have signature plaques that can indicate season and era (for example, post‑1993 plaques with season codes). Exact formats vary by period, so we are happy to help interpret any hallmarks visible on this necklace.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. Unless explicitly stated there, this necklace is sold without additional items.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin or nickel allergies?
A: As with most costume jewellery, base‑metal alloys may include trace nickel. If you have sensitive skin, consider limiting prolonged contact, wearing it over clothing, and cleaning the contact areas after wear. Discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

Q: What is the condition of this vintage piece?
A: It is graded Very Good with light signs of wear consistent with age; the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches. Please review all photos and the condition notes for a complete overview.
