Q: What are the main details of this Chanel brooch?
A: This vintage Chanel brooch features gold-tone metal, pink rhinestone embellishments, and a heart lock and key motif finished with the iconic CC logo. It closes with a classic pin fastening for easy styling on clothing and other sturdy textiles.

Q: What size is this brooch?
A: It measures approximately 3 x 2 x 0.8 cm, making it a compact statement piece that works well on a lapel, knitwear, scarf, hat, or the pocket area of a jacket.

Q: How does the brooch fasten?
A: It has a pin closure on the back. For the best hold and to help protect the piece, it is best worn on structured fabrics rather than very delicate or loosely woven materials.

Q: Is this fine jewellery or fashion jewellery?
A: This is Chanel fashion jewellery, also known as costume jewellery. For this piece, the listed materials are gold-tone metal with pink rhinestone embellishments rather than solid gold or precious gemstones.

Q: What condition is the brooch in?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. The hardware remains shiny and shows light scratches, which is consistent with careful pre-owned wear on a vintage piece.

Q: Is this a vintage item?
A: Yes. This brooch is sold as a vintage Chanel piece, which means light signs of age and wear can be part of its character and charm.

Q: What is included with the brooch?
A: This item comes with a box. Any additional included items, if present, are shown in the product information on this page.

Q: How should I care for vintage Chanel rhinestone jewellery?
A: Handle it gently and avoid contact with water, perfume, lotions, soap, and cleaning chemicals. After wearing, wipe it softly with a dry cloth and store it separately in its box or a soft pouch to help reduce scratches and protect the finish and stones.

Q: Can the metal finish or rhinestones show wear over time?
A: Yes. As with most vintage fashion jewellery, the finish may gradually soften and stones can become vulnerable to knocks if the brooch is dropped or rubbed against hard surfaces. Gentle wear and careful storage will help preserve its appearance.

Q: How is authenticity checked on a vintage Chanel brooch?
A: Authenticity is assessed through a combination of details such as hallmarking, construction, materials, finish, and overall craftsmanship, as a stamp alone is not enough. At A Retro Tale, pre-owned luxury pieces are reviewed for authenticity before being offered for sale.
