Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Maxi Just Mademoiselle Patent Chain Tote Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 43 x 31 x 15 cm, this maxi tote is suited to everyday essentials such as a wallet, phone, sunglasses, keys, a cosmetics pouch and a notebook, with room for larger daily items as well. It should also take A4 papers and may fit many 13-inch laptops, but we recommend comparing your device measurements with the bag dimensions before purchase.

Q: Is this bag comfortable to carry on the shoulder?
A: Yes. It features dual interwoven chain and leather shoulder straps with an approximate handle drop of 24 cm, so it is designed for shoulder carry. As with most chain-strap bags, it may feel heavier when fully packed.

Q: Is patent leather practical for everyday use?
A: Yes, patent leather offers a glossy, structured finish that works well for regular use, but it can show fingerprints, light scratches and surface marks more easily than grained leather. This black colour is generally one of the more forgiving choices for day-to-day wear.

Q: How should I care for black patent leather?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid overfilling, and keep it away from prolonged sunlight, moisture and dark-dyed fabrics that may transfer colour. For storage, keep it upright, lightly stuffed, and with the chains wrapped so they do not press against the leather.

Q: What does the serial number indicate?
A: The serial number provided for this bag indicates production in 2011, which is consistent with this vintage Chanel piece.

Q: What is the condition of this bag?
A: The overall condition is very good. The exterior shows light signs of use with slight scratching to the front, the interior has light trace of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Does this item come with an authenticity card, box or dust bag?
A: The product information lists a serial number. If an authenticity card, box or dust bag is not noted in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How is this bag authenticated?
A: At A Retro Tale, pre-owned designer pieces are checked by specialists using details such as materials, construction, hardware and serial information before being offered for sale.

Q: Is this a good everyday or work bag?
A: Yes. The maxi size, structured patent leather and shoulder straps make it a practical option for commuting, shopping, meetings and other daily use, while still offering a polished Chanel look.
