Q: What fits inside the Lady Dior Tote?
A: Capacity depends on the size and production era. Typically it carries a smartphone, compact wallet/cardholder, keys, a small cosmetics pouch, slim sunglasses case and an A5 notebook. Medium/large sizes can often accommodate a small tablet; full‑size laptops generally do not fit. Please compare your items with the Measurements shown on this page or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody and are the straps adjustable?
A: Lady Dior bags are designed with top handles for hand/arm carry and many editions include a detachable shoulder strap. Strap length varies by size and era; most are fixed‑length (non‑adjustable) and will wear as shoulder or high crossbody on many users. We’ll list handle/strap drops under Measurements—if anything is missing, just ask and we’ll measure them for you.

Q: How secure is the closure and what compartments does it have?
A: Most Lady Dior totes feature a zip‑top closure for secure access. Interiors commonly include one zip pocket and one slip pocket to organise smaller items. Layout can vary slightly by year—please review our photos and description for the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What is “Cannage” and what materials are used?
A: Cannage refers to Dior’s signature quilted motif inspired by Napoleon III chairs. Lady Dior bags are commonly crafted in lambskin, calfskin or patent leather with metal hardware and the DIOR letter charms. Linings vary by era (leather or textile). This listing specifies the exact materials and hardware for this item.

Q: How should I care for lambskin vs patent leather?
A: Keep the bag away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight, and avoid colour transfer from dark denim. Lambskin is soft and can mark more easily—wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth and use a high‑quality, neutral conditioner very sparingly (test first on a discreet area). Patent leather can pick up dye transfer and sometimes stick when stored against plastics—store in a breathable dust bag, with tissue to keep shape, and avoid contact with printed materials.

Q: Will it fit an iPad or laptop?
A: Many medium/large Lady Dior bags fit standard tablets (e.g., 10–11‑inch class) depending on case thickness. Slim 13‑inch laptops are usually a tight fit and not recommended; larger laptops generally won’t fit. Compare your device’s dimensions with the Measurements shown or ask us to check the fit with this specific bag.

Q: Do the DIOR letter charms scratch easily? Any tips to minimise wear?
A: Charms can show light hairline marks from movement over time, which is normal for metal hardware. To minimise wear, avoid heavy contact with abrasive surfaces, store the bag with the charms wrapped in soft tissue, and do not overfill the bag so hardware doesn’t press against the leather.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located?
A: Authentic Dior bags feature an interior “Christian Dior” stamp with “Made in (country).” Many pieces have a date code on a leather tag inside (often near or inside an interior pocket). From recent years, Dior has increasingly used embedded identifiers (microchips) rather than visible codes. Placement and format vary—contact us for close‑up photos of this item.

Q: Is the Lady Dior still produced?
A: Yes—Lady Dior is a core Dior style with ongoing seasonal variations in sizes, colours and materials. Availability of specific configurations changes over time; the pre‑loved market is ideal for finding particular editions like this one.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Any included items (e.g., dust bag, detachable strap, box or booklet) are listed under “Accessories.” If an accessory isn’t mentioned there, it isn’t included—feel free to ask us to confirm. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, date code/microchip and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.
