Q: What typically fits inside this tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 32 × 25 × 9 cm, it comfortably carries A4 documents, a tablet, a compact water bottle and daily essentials. Many 13-inch laptops will fit in a slim sleeve; please compare your device’s dimensions to the measurements and note the open-top design.

Q: Can I wear it on the shoulder?
A: The dual flat leather handles have an approximate 20 cm drop, so most people can carry it by hand or on the shoulder, especially over light layers.

Q: Does it have a closure and internal pockets?
A: This model has an open top and a fabric-lined interior with one pocket. For smaller items, consider using a pouch or organiser for added security and structure.

Q: What is the GG canvas made of, and how durable is it?
A: The bag is crafted from GG monogram canvas with brown leather trim. GG canvas is a cotton‑blend base; many iterations are lightly resin‑coated (often called GG Supreme) to improve resistance to scratches and surface dirt while remaining lightweight. Treat the leather trim with care to maintain its appearance.

Q: Is the canvas water-resistant?
A: Coated canvas offers some resistance to light moisture, but neither canvas nor leather is fully waterproof. Protect the bag from rain and dry it promptly if it becomes damp.

Q: How should I clean and store it?
A: Wipe the canvas with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid soaps, solvents or alcohol. Gently buff the leather trim with a dry, soft cloth. Store the bag loosely stuffed to maintain shape, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally inside a breathable dust bag.

Q: How do you authenticate this item, and what about serial numbers?
A: Every piece at A Retro Tale is examined by in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware and brand stamps. Gucci serial number formats have evolved over time; some vintage pieces may have faint, differently formatted or even absent codes, so authenticity is determined from the overall details rather than the number alone.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information on this page. If an item such as a dust bag is not shown there, it is not included.

Q: What is the condition like in person, and can I reduce the vintage odour?
A: It is in Very Good condition with light scuffs to the base/corners, a few minor cracks in the straps and shiny hardware with light scratches. A faint vintage scent is present. To freshen gently, air the bag in a cool, dry place and place odour‑absorbing sachets (baking soda or activated charcoal) nearby—not in direct contact with the leather. Avoid spraying fragrance or saturating the lining.
