Q: What are the size and strap drop of the Padlock Small?
A: This piece measures approximately 20 × 13 × 7 cm. The sliding chain strap can be worn long with about a 50 cm drop for crossbody or doubled with about a 27 cm drop for the shoulder.

Q: How can the strap be worn and is it adjustable?
A: The chain is designed to slide so you can wear it crossbody or shorten it by doubling the chain on the shoulder. There are no buckle holes, so the length isn’t micro‑adjustable beyond these carry options.

Q: What typically fits inside?
A: A large smartphone, cardholder or compact wallet, keys, and a few small essentials like lipstick or hand sanitiser. Due to the structured shape, a long continental wallet or a tablet will not fit comfortably—packing slim items works best.

Q: How does the padlock closure and key work?
A: The front push‑lock secures the flap and can be locked with the supplied key for added security. The keys are kept in the leather clochette. You can use the bag without engaging the lock; if the lock is engaged and the keys are misplaced, professional assistance may be required to open it safely.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This piece comes with a clochette and keys. Everything included is listed under the product information section on this page; if an item isn’t listed there, it isn’t included.

Q: Is the chain strap heavy or comfortable for all‑day wear?
A: The chain and hardware add some weight compared with fabric straps, which gives a premium feel but can be noticeable. Wearing it crossbody helps distribute weight; keeping contents light enhances comfort.

Q: What is the interior like?
A: The Padlock Small typically features a brown suede or microfibre‑suede lining with a slip pocket and a handy external back pocket for cards or travel tickets.

Q: How should I care for the green leather and suede lining?
A: Wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth and protect it from prolonged light, heat, rain, and colour transfer (for example, from dark denim). If it becomes wet, dry it gently and naturally. For the suede lining, use a clean suede brush to lift light marks. Store the bag stuffed to maintain its shape and keep it in a breathable dust bag when not in use.

Q: What is the condition of this specific piece?
A: Very Good. There is a small mark on one corner outside; inside shows a light trace of use with a few stains on the lining; the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. Please review the photos for close‑ups.

Q: Is this item authentic and where was it made?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly authenticated by our in‑house experts through multi‑point checks. This piece is labelled Made in Italy.
