Q: What typically fits inside the Damier Infini Porte-Documents Voyage?
A: With external measurements of approximately 40 × 30 × 6 cm, it easily accommodates A4/Letter documents, a diary, tablet, chargers and a slim laptop. Its structured, slim profile is optimised for everyday office essentials rather than bulky items.

Q: Will it fit a 15- or 16-inch laptop?
A: It comfortably fits most 13–14 inch laptops. Many 15-inch (and some slim 16-inch) models can fit, but the zip opening and narrow gusset mean it may be a snug in/out. As a guide, devices up to roughly 36 × 25 × 3 cm tend to slide in more easily; thicker sleeves may reduce clearance.

Q: Does this specific bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: This piece is the handheld version and does not include a strap. Some Porte-Documents Voyage NM or canvas editions were offered with a removable strap, but only items listed under Accessories come with this bag.

Q: What is Damier Infini leather and how is it different from Damier Graphite?
A: Damier Infini is soft, embossed calf leather introduced in the men’s collection around Autumn/Winter 2011, giving a supple, leather-rich feel. Damier Graphite is a lightweight, hard-wearing coated canvas. Both share the checkerboard look, but Infini is leather while Graphite is canvas.

Q: How should I care for Damier Infini leather?
A: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; avoid water, oils and harsh cleaners; do not overfill; and store loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct heat and sunlight. For deep cleaning or stains, consult a professional leather specialist.

Q: What does the date code CA2188 mean?
A: CA denotes a Spanish Louis Vuitton workshop. In this four‑digit format, the 1st and 3rd digits indicate the week and the 2nd and 4th digits indicate the year, so CA2188 corresponds to week 28 of 2018 in Spain. Note: from 2021, Louis Vuitton phased in microchips on new items, but this 2018 piece appropriately bears a date code.

Q: Is it suitable as a carry-on personal item for flights?
A: Yes, its slim briefcase proportions typically qualify as a personal item and fit under most airline seats. Policies vary by carrier, so please check your airline’s specific allowances.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This listing includes a padlock, as stated. Unless specifically listed, items such as keys, shoulder strap or dust bag are not included.

Q: Can I add a strap later?
A: Only if the bag has side D‑rings. Some Porte‑Documents versions include them; others do not. If your bag lacks D‑rings, we do not recommend aftermarket attachments.

Q: How is authenticity ensured at A Retro Tale?
A: Every item undergoes a multi‑point inspection by our in‑house experts, reviewing materials, stitching, hardware engravings, heat stamps and date‑code logic. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and can share additional photos or details on request.
