Q: What typically fits inside the Odeon PM?
A: With a slim, flat profile and the measurements shown on this page, it comfortably carries a long wallet, smartphone, keys, sunglasses, a small cosmetics pouch, and an e‑reader or iPad mini–sized tablet. It is not designed for A4 documents, laptops, or bulky water bottles. Please compare your own items to the Measurements for the best guidance.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody as well as on the shoulder?
A: Yes. The Odeon PM was designed with an adjustable strap for hands‑free crossbody or shoulder wear. For exact strap length on this specific piece, please refer to the Measurements and photos on this page.

Q: Is the strap removable on this model?
A: Strap construction varies by production year. Many earlier Odeon PM versions have a permanently attached, buckle‑adjustable strap, while some later reissues offer a removable strap. Please check the product photos and Measurements to see how the strap attaches on this item.

Q: What are the main differences between the vintage Odeon PM and the 2020 “New Model” (NM)?
A: The 2020 NM reintroduced the Odeon with design tweaks such as reinforced leather corners and a leather name tag, and it is marketed for both shoulder and crossbody wear. Earlier Odeon PM bags share the zipped top and exterior slip pocket but may have different strap hardware and do not always include the NM’s extra leather details. Always rely on the photos and product information for the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What does the date code SF4153 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton date codes indicate place and time of production. “SF” denotes a French workshop, and “4153” decodes to the 45th week of 2013. Note that a date code is not a unique serial number; it is one of many authenticity data points.

Q: Is the Monogram material leather?
A: The body is Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas, prized for being lightweight and durable. The trim and strap are natural vachetta leather, which develops a honey patina over time and is sensitive to water and oils.

Q: How should I care for the vachetta leather and canvas?
A: Keep vachetta away from rain, lotions, and dark denim to minimise water spots and colour transfer. Wipe the canvas with a slightly damp, lint‑free cloth and dry immediately; avoid soaps, alcohol, or conditioners on the leather. Store the bag lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag, away from direct heat and sunlight.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed in the product information on this page. For this piece, it notes box, dust bag, and brand booklets. If something is not listed there, it is not included.

Q: Is the Odeon PM good for daily use or travel?
A: Yes. Owners value its light weight, secure zipped closure, and the front slip pocket for quick‑access items like a phone or travel card. The flat silhouette sits close to the body, making it practical for commuting and city breaks.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every item is vetted by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items and can share further details or photos on request.
