Q: What typically fits inside the Louis Vuitton Tambourin NM Bag?
A: This is a compact everyday bag measuring approximately 18 × 16 × 7 cm. It is best suited to essentials such as a phone, card holder or slim wallet, keys, lipstick, and a few small personal items. Bulkier items or larger purses are unlikely to fit comfortably, so we recommend checking the Measurements on this page for the best guide.

Q: Can this bag be worn crossbody?
A: This piece has a single flat shoulder strap with a listed measurement of approximately 51 cm. Depending on your height and preferred fit, it may sit as a shoulder bag or a shorter crossbody-style bag, so we recommend comparing the strap measurement with a bag you already own.

Q: Does the Tambourin NM have any inner pockets?
A: Yes. This specific bag features a black lining with one internal pocket, which is useful for keeping smaller essentials organised inside the main compartment.

Q: What material is this bag made from?
A: This specific Tambourin NM is crafted in red leather with silver-tone hardware. That gives it a more refined and structured look than the canvas versions of the Tambourin often seen online.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag has a flap closure, which helps keep your essentials covered while still allowing easy access. It is well suited to day-to-day use when carrying light essentials.

Q: What condition is this item in?
A: The bag is listed in very good vintage condition with light traces of use to the exterior and interior. The hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As with all pre-owned pieces, small signs of age and wear are to be expected and form part of the character of the item.

Q: Does this item come with any original product information?
A: This listing states that no additional product information is included. If something is not listed on the product page, it should be assumed not to be included with the bag.

Q: What does the date code or serial number PL2199 mean?
A: Louis Vuitton pieces from this era typically use a date code rather than a unique serial number. The code helps indicate production details and is one part of the authentication process, but it should always be considered together with the bag’s materials, construction, hardware, and stamps.

Q: How should I care for vintage leather on this bag?
A: To help preserve the leather, avoid prolonged exposure to rain, direct sunlight, heat, and rough surfaces. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth, avoid overfilling the bag, and store it in a breathable dust bag or cloth cover when not in use. Because this is a coloured leather piece, it is also wise to avoid contact with dark denim or other fabrics that may cause colour transfer.

Q: How do you authenticate this Louis Vuitton bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by experts who assess details such as materials, stitching, hardware, date code or stamp format, and overall construction. This multi-point review helps ensure the piece is consistent with the model and brand standards.
