Q: Is this Saint Laurent 2 Colors Chain Necklace authentic?
A: Yes. Every item at A Retro Tale is rigorously vetted by our in‑house experts and sold with our authenticity commitment. Shop with confidence.

Q: What materials is it made from? Is it solid gold?
A: Saint Laurent fashion jewellery is typically crafted from plated base metal (often brass) rather than solid precious metals. This necklace features a two‑tone finish in gold and gunmetal. It is not solid gold unless explicitly stated. Exact composition can vary by era—please review the photos and contact us if you’d like us to confirm specifics for this piece.

Q: What is the length and will it fit me?
A: Our listing shows a “Perimeter Necklace” of approximately 65 cm, which sits as a classic mid‑length chain on most wearers. If you need the precise wearable range, link dimensions or pendant drop (if any), message us and we’ll measure it for you.

Q: Is it adjustable and how does it fasten?
A: This model uses a push‑clasp fastening. Some Saint Laurent chains include extender sections; others do not. Please check the close‑up images on this page to see the exact closure and any adjustability, or contact us for confirmation.

Q: What hallmarks or stamps should I expect?
A: Saint Laurent necklaces often feature a logo plaque, tag or clasp engraving (SAINT LAURENT or YSL), sometimes with a country of origin. Placement varies by design and era. Our listing photos show any available stamps and signatures on this piece.

Q: What is the width and weight? Will it feel heavy?
A: The listed width is approximately 1.5 cm. Weight varies by model; if you’d like the gram weight for comfort reference, just ask and we’ll provide it. The textured links give a pleasing presence without being overly heavy for most wearers.

Q: How should I care for the two‑tone plated finish?
A: Keep it dry and away from perfume, lotions, hairspray and hand sanitiser. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and store separately to prevent scratches. Do not soak, use ultrasonic cleaners or chemical dipping solutions. A non‑abrasive jewellery cloth can be used lightly on metal areas only.

Q: Is it suitable for sensitive skin? Is it nickel‑free?
A: Fashion/vintage jewellery may contain nickel. If you have sensitivities, consider using a clear barrier product on contact points or wearing the piece over clothing. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and contact us for guidance.

Q: Will the finish tarnish or fade with wear?
A: Plated finishes can show light wear, micro‑scratches or gentle colour rub at high‑friction points over time. Proper care—keeping it dry, avoiding cosmetics and storing individually—helps preserve the colour and lustre.

Q: Can it be resized, extended, repaired or replated?
A: A jeweller can often add a short extender chain, adjust length slightly or replace a clasp. Replating may be possible but can affect originality and resale value. We don’t offer in‑house modifications; contact us if you’d like recommendations for reputable specialists.

Q: What condition should I expect, what is included and can I return it?
A: This piece is in Very Good Condition with light vintage wear possible—please review the high‑resolution photos and condition notes. Only accessories specifically shown or listed (a box is included) are provided. Returns are accepted in line with our policy; please see our Returns page for eligibility and timeframes and ensure the item is returned in the same condition received.
