Tiffany & CoButterfly Necklace

Q: What is this necklace made from?
A: This Tiffany & Co. Butterfly Necklace is crafted in 925 sterling silver and features a butterfly pendant on a fine link chain.

Q: How long is the necklace and where will it sit?
A: The chain measures 41 cm, which is approximately 16 inches. On most people, this length sits close to the collarbone, making it easy to wear on its own or layered with longer necklaces.

Q: What size is the butterfly pendant?
A: The pendant measures approximately 1.3 cm in width and 0.2 cm in depth, giving it a delicate and easy-to-wear look.

Q: What type of clasp does it have?
A: It has a spring ring clasp closure, which is a classic fastening often used on fine chain necklaces.

Q: What condition is this piece in?
A: It is listed in Very Good Condition. The hardware is shiny with light scratches, which is consistent with gentle wear on a pre-owned sterling silver necklace.

Q: Will sterling silver scratch or tarnish over time?
A: Yes. Sterling silver can develop light surface scratches through normal wear and may tarnish over time, especially if exposed to moisture, chlorine, perfume, lotions or household chemicals. This is normal for silver and can usually be improved with proper care.

Q: How should I care for and clean it?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft polishing cloth and store it dry when not in use. Avoid bleach, chlorine and harsh cleaning products. Keeping sterling silver dry and properly stored helps reduce tarnishing and maintain its shine.

Q: Can I wear this necklace in the shower or while swimming?
A: It is best to remove it before showering, bathing, swimming, exercising or applying lotions and fragrance. Regular exposure to water and chemicals can speed up dullness and tarnishing.

Q: How can I tell if a pre-owned Tiffany necklace is authentic?
A: Authentic Tiffany sterling silver pieces typically show crisp hallmarks such as Tiffany & Co. and 925, along with clean detailing and quality finishing. At A Retro Tale, every item is carefully vetted for authenticity before sale.

Q: Does it come with the original box or pouch?
A: No. This item is listed with no product information included, so if a box, pouch or other original extras are important to you, please assume they are not part of this listing.
