Q: What is this necklace made from?
A: This Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti Starfish necklace is crafted in 18ct yellow gold. It is a fine jewellery piece rather than a gold-plated fashion style.

Q: How long is the necklace and where will it sit?
A: The listed necklace perimeter is 41 cm, which is roughly 16 inches. On most wearers, this gives a short, elegant fit that sits around the collarbone.

Q: Is the length adjustable?
A: A 41 cm length is listed for this piece, and no extender is mentioned in the product details. It should therefore be considered a fixed-length necklace.

Q: What type of clasp does it have?
A: It fastens with a spring-ring clasp, a classic and secure closure often used on delicate gold chains.

Q: Is this necklace vintage?
A: Yes. This is a vintage Tiffany & Co. necklace from the Elsa Peretti line, which is especially sought after for its sculptural, nature-inspired designs.

Q: What condition is the necklace in?
A: It is listed in very good condition. The hardware remains shiny and shows light scratches consistent with gentle previous wear.

Q: Does it come with a box, pouch or authenticity card?
A: No. This piece is sold with no additional product information or original packaging, so only the necklace itself is included unless otherwise stated on the product page.

Q: How should I care for 18ct gold jewellery like this?
A: Wipe it gently with a soft cloth after wear and keep it away from bleach, harsh cleaning products, perfume, lotions, swimming pools and seawater. Store it separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box to help protect the finish.

Q: Can the light scratches be removed?
A: Light surface scratches can usually be improved with professional polishing. However, polishing removes a very small amount of metal, so it should only be done occasionally and by a professional.

Q: Can a pre-owned Tiffany necklace still be authentic without original packaging?
A: Yes. Original packaging can be helpful, but it is not essential. Authenticity is judged from the piece itself, including its craftsmanship, materials, hallmarks and overall construction.
