Bottega VenetaSmall Veneta Tote Bag

Q: What typically fits inside this Bottega Veneta Small Veneta tote?
A: With approximate measurements of 31 x 30 x 16 cm, it is well suited to daily essentials such as a wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetics pouch and a small water bottle. It should also accommodate a compact tablet or slim notebook, but we recommend comparing the exact measurements if you plan to carry larger devices.

Q: Can this bag be carried on the shoulder?
A: Yes, most likely. The dual braided handles have an approximate drop of 15 cm, which generally allows shoulder carry with lighter layers. Under a thick coat, it may feel a little closer under the arm, so fit can vary slightly from person to person.

Q: Does this bag come with a shoulder strap?
A: No shoulder strap is listed for this piece. It is designed to be carried by its dual braided leather handles.

Q: Is this a good everyday size?
A: Yes, it works well as a practical day bag. It offers enough room for more than just the essentials without feeling overly large, making it a strong choice for daily use, shopping, commuting or weekend wear.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: It is listed in good condition overall. The exterior shows scratches to the leather and scuffing on the base edges, while the bottom lining has pen marks. Inside, there are light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light surface scratches.

Q: Will the leather soften or slouch over time?
A: Very likely, yes. Bottega Veneta leather bags are well known for becoming softer and more relaxed with wear. As this is a vintage piece, it may already have a more supple, broken-in feel than a newer bag.

Q: How should I care for the vintage leather?
A: Handle it gently and keep it away from liquids, oils, make-up, perfume, direct sunlight, heat and abrasive surfaces. When not in use, store it lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag to help maintain its shape. For cleaning or restoration, use only products suitable for fine leather or consult a specialist.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: The country-of-origin label states Italy.

Q: How is authenticity handled for this item?
A: A Retro Tale states that every item it sells is authenticated by in-house experts, supported by an additional supplier screening process, for added reassurance when buying vintage luxury.
