CelineCarriage Box Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Céline Carriage Box Bag?
A: With its structured silhouette and measurements of approximately 22 × 15 × 6 cm, it usually carries a large smartphone (including most Pro/Max models), a continental wallet (often fits horizontally), keys, lipstick, AirPods, and slim sunglasses in a soft sleeve. Bulky pouches and small water bottles are generally a squeeze due to the tri‑compartment layout. Please compare your essentials with the Measurements shown or ask us for a tailored fit check for this exact piece.

Q: Is the shoulder strap adjustable or removable? Can I wear it crossbody?
A: This piece features a single adjustable shoulder strap for comfortable shoulder wear; it is not designed to be removed. The listed strap drop is around 28 cm, which typically sits too short for a low crossbody on most wearers—some may achieve a high crossbody depending on adjustment and height. If you’d like us to advise how it sits on you, just ask.

Q: How secure is the closure?
A: The bag has a flap with Céline’s signature carriage clasp providing good day‑to‑day security. For commuting or travel, we recommend keeping the bag upright and placing small valuables in the interior zip pocket for added peace of mind.

Q: What is the interior layout?
A: This item features a black leather lining with three compartments and one internal zip pocket, offering tidy organisation while maintaining the bag’s sleek profile. Our listing photos show the exact configuration of this piece.

Q: What is box calf leather and how should I care for it?
A: Box calf is a smooth, fine‑grained leather known for its elegant sheen and structured look. It can show micro‑scratches and pressure marks more readily than textured leathers. Keep it away from moisture, oils and prolonged sunlight; be mindful of colour transfer from dark denim. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and condition very sparingly with a high‑quality neutral product (test first on a discreet area). Store lightly stuffed, upright, in a breathable dust bag, and place a soft cloth between the strap and flap to minimise imprints.

Q: Will my iPhone Pro/Max fit?
A: Yes—most Pro/Max phones fit comfortably. Very bulky cases may make the fit snug within the compartments. Compare your phone’s dimensions with the Measurements provided or ask us to perform a quick fit check against this exact bag.

Q: What materials and hardware does this piece have, and where is it made?
A: This listing specifies black box leather, gold‑tone hardware and a black leather lining. The country of origin label indicates France. Our photos and description show the precise finish and details for this item.

Q: Is this vintage Carriage Box Bag still produced?
A: The carriage‑clasp box styles are vintage Céline designs and are generally discontinued. The pre‑loved market is the best way to find specific colours and configurations like this black box‑leather piece.

Q: Where are the brand markings and codes located, and how is dating handled?
A: Authentic Céline bags feature a “CELINE” heat stamp and a country‑of‑origin marking (commonly France or Italy). Many vintage pieces include a serial/production code, often on a small leather tab or along an interior seam, though placement and format vary by era and some items may not have a visible code. We’re happy to share close‑up photos and help with dating for this exact bag.

Q: What accessories are included and how do you authenticate?
A: Included items are listed under “Accessories.” This piece is noted as having no accessories. Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes rigorous, multi‑point authentication by our in‑house experts, assessing materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, serial/code (where applicable) and overall construction. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Can Céline repair or service this bag?
A: Repairs may be available through Céline subject to boutique assessment and parts availability. Independent luxury leather specialists can also perform cleaning, edge‑dye touch‑ups and hardware care. We’re happy to advise on typical options and help you prepare for a boutique or specialist assessment.
