Q: What are the measurements and strap drop of this Medium Double Flap?
A: This piece measures approximately 25.5 × 16 × 6.5 cm, with a strap drop of about 23 cm when worn doubled on the shoulder and about 42 cm when worn as a single strap. Minor variations can occur by year and leather, but these are the measurements for this item.

Q: What typically fits inside the Medium size?
A: Daily essentials fit comfortably: a large smartphone, compact wallet or cardholder, keys, lipstick, compact powder and tissues, and sunglasses in a soft pouch. Because the Medium is a double-flap design with several pockets, usable space is slightly less than the exterior dimensions suggest. Packing slim items and avoiding bulky cases maximises capacity.

Q: Can I wear the Medium Classic Flap crossbody?
A: It is primarily a shoulder bag. With the strap worn long (single), some people can wear it crossbody; on smaller torsos it sits comfortably, while on taller frames it tends to sit higher on the body. The strap is not adjustable beyond wearing it doubled or single.

Q: Why does this model have a double flap, and does it affect capacity?
A: The internal flap adds structure and security, helping the bag keep its shape over time—especially in soft lambskin. The trade-off is a touch more weight and slightly reduced internal space versus single-flap versions.

Q: Is lambskin delicate? Any care tips for a light pink colour?
A: Lambskin is supple and luxurious, so it benefits from mindful care. Avoid overfilling, prolonged exposure to sunlight or humidity, and friction with dark or non-colourfast fabrics (e.g., new denim) to reduce colour transfer. Wipe gently with a soft cloth; to lessen the look of light marks on lambskin, rub very gently in a circular motion. Store upright in a breathable pouch, loosely stuffed, with the chain wrapped in tissue to prevent imprints.

Q: Is the hardware real gold-plated on this vintage piece?
A: Chanel used 24k gold-plated hardware on gold-tone pieces up to around 2008. As a 7‑series bag from the early 2000s, hardware on examples from this era is typically 24k gold-plated. Please refer to the item photos and description, which note shiny hardware with light scratches.

Q: What does the serial number 7025631 tell me?
A: The 7‑digit, 7‑series code dates the bag to approximately 2002–2003. For bags of this period, a matching authenticity card and interior serial sticker are expected. This item is delivered with an authenticity card and serial number tag, and—as with all items at A Retro Tale—has been verified by our in‑house experts with over 10 years of experience, supported by a trusted third‑party authentication tool.

Q: Will a large smartphone or a long continental wallet fit?
A: A large smartphone fits; a slim case is recommended. A long continental wallet may fit but will limit remaining space due to the double flap and internal compartments. Most buyers prefer a compact wallet or cardholder for best day‑to‑day usability.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag is delivered with a box, authenticity card and serial number tag. Everything that comes with the item is listed under the product information section; if a dust bag or other item isn’t listed there, it isn’t included.
