ChanelClassic Caviar Small Double Flap Bag

Q: What fits inside this Chanel Classic Caviar Small Double Flap Bag?
A: This size is ideal for daily essentials such as a phone, cardholder or slim wallet, keys, lipstick and a few small personal items. With measurements of 23 x 14 x 6.5 cm, it offers a compact but practical interior. As with most double flap styles, the second flap adds structure but slightly reduces usable space compared with more open single-compartment bags.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder or crossbody?
A: Yes. According to the listed measurements, the strap drop is approximately 24 cm doubled and 44 cm single, so it can usually be worn short on the shoulder or longer on the shoulder. Depending on height and styling preference, the longer drop may sit as a short crossbody for some, but it is generally considered more of a shoulder bag than a true hands-free crossbody style.

Q: Is caviar leather a good choice for everyday use?
A: Yes. Caviar leather is widely favoured because its grained finish is typically more resistant to visible scratches and everyday wear than smoother leathers. It also helps the bag keep its structured shape well, which is one reason many buyers choose it for regular use.

Q: What is a double flap bag?
A: A double flap design has both an outer flap and an additional inner flap beneath it. This is one of the signature features of the classic Chanel construction. Many collectors appreciate it for its iconic structure and polished look, although it does make the interior slightly less spacious than an open single-flap design.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This item is listed in Very Good Condition with light traces of use. The exterior and interior are both described as very good, and the hardware is noted as shiny with light scratches. This means the bag has been used previously but remains well-presented and functional overall.

Q: What accessories are included with this bag?
A: According to the product information, this bag comes with a box and serial number tag. If any other extras are not listed in the product information, they should not be assumed to be included.

Q: How should I care for this bag?
A: To help preserve its shape and finish, avoid overfilling it, keep it away from prolonged moisture, heat and direct sunlight, and store it upright when not in use. It is also best to protect the chain from pressing into the leather during storage and to wipe the bag gently with a soft, dry cloth after use. As with all vintage luxury bags, careful storage and light handling will help maintain its condition over time.

Q: How is authenticity supported for this bag?
A: This item has a serial number listed as TA3JNEH0, and the product information notes that a serial number tag is included. For pre-owned Chanel pieces, buyers commonly look for consistency across serial details, materials, construction, stitching, hardware and overall craftsmanship. At A Retro Tale, authenticity is part of the expert review process for every item offered.
