Q: What typically fits inside the Hermès Trim 31?
A: With approximate dimensions of 31 × 22 × 8 cm, it comfortably carries a large smartphone, continental wallet, keys, slim sunglasses in a soft case, a small cosmetics pouch and an A5 diary. An iPad mini generally fits; a full‑size tablet may be tight due to the 22 cm height and curved zip opening—packing flat items works best.

Q: Can the Trim 31 be worn crossbody?
A: The Trim 31 is primarily designed as a shoulder bag with a single adjustable strap. On the longest setting some wearers can carry it high as a crossbody, but it is not a dedicated crossbody design. Please refer to the Strap measurement listed on this page for this exact piece and contact us if you’d like the precise drop on a specific hole.

Q: How does Togo leather wear over time?
A: Togo is a grained calfskin prized for its durability and scratch resistance. It softens slightly with use while retaining structure, and the pebble grain helps disguise minor marks. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, oils and heat; wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use and store loosely stuffed in its dust bag to maintain shape.

Q: What does the Square G (2003) blind stamp mean?
A: Hermès uses a date‑stamp system with letters (and, for 1997–2014, a surrounding square). A Square G indicates production in 2003. The blind stamp is one of several authenticity markers and its exact placement can vary by model and year.

Q: Is the hardware really gold‑plated and will it tarnish?
A: Hermès hardware is typically plated in precious metals such as gold or palladium. It is designed to resist tarnishing, though light surface scratches are normal with wear. Hardware can be cleaned and, if necessary, serviced through Hermès after‑sales care.

Q: How secure is the closure on this bag?
A: The Trim 31 features a top zip for primary security, complemented by a hook (lobster‑style) clasp that bridges the opening. This combination keeps contents secure while preserving the hobo silhouette.

Q: Is the Trim 31 lined?
A: Lining varies by production and leather. Many vintage Trims are unlined with interior pockets; this specific piece has tonal suede lining with one zipped pocket and one slip pocket, as noted in the Features section.

Q: Can Hermès replace or adjust the strap on a vintage Trim?
A: Hermès offers after‑sales repair services which can include strap replacement and edge‑glazing refresh. Lead times vary and some custom alterations (like lengthening) are generally not offered; an in‑store assessment will confirm available options for your bag.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This bag comes with its box and dust bag. Everything included is listed under Accessories—if you need clarification, please contact us.
