Louis VuittonCapucines PM Bag

Q: What can the Capucines PM typically fit?
A: With approximate measurements of 36 x 24 x 14 cm, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a long wallet, smartphone, keys, a small cosmetics pouch, sunglasses case, and a compact tablet or e‑reader. Capacity varies by organiser use and how you pack; please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Does this item come with a shoulder strap?
A: According to the product information for this specific piece, no shoulder strap is included. Many Capucines PM bags were originally sold with a detachable strap, but this listing is offered without one unless explicitly stated in the product information.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The Capucines PM features a red leather-lined interior with two main compartments separated by a central divider and an internal zipped pocket, helping keep essentials neatly arranged.

Q: How does the flap and LV closure work?
A: The Capucines has a distinctive flap that can be styled two ways: worn outside to show the Monogram Flower motif, or tucked inside to reveal the leather-wrapped LV initials. This gives the bag two different looks and easy access when needed.

Q: What is Taurillon leather and how does it wear?
A: Taurillon is a premium full‑grain, grained calf leather known for its soft hand, durability, and refined look. It generally resists light scratches well and ages gracefully with normal use. As the leather is supple, gentle softening or a slight slouch can develop over time, which is normal for this model.

Q: How should I care for this red Taurillon leather bag?
A: Wipe with a soft, slightly damp lint‑free cloth to remove surface dirt, then dry immediately. Avoid harsh cleaners, oils, or alcohol‑based products. Keep away from prolonged sunlight and moisture, and minimise friction with dark denim to reduce the risk of colour transfer onto the leather. Store it stuffed to maintain shape, standing upright in a breathable dust bag.

Q: Will an iPad fit inside?
A: Compact tablets and most e‑readers fit comfortably. Larger tablets may fit depending on case size and orientation. Compare your device dimensions to the bag’s Measurements to be sure.

Q: What does the date code MI2175 mean?
A: MI indicates production in France. For four‑digit codes used in this era, the first and third digits denote the week and the second and fourth denote the year—so MI2175 corresponds to the 27th week of 2015. Louis Vuitton transitioned from visible date codes to embedded microchips from 2021 onwards; this 2015 piece correctly bears a date code.

Q: Does the Capucines PM hold its shape well over time?
A: The Capucines is structured with a reinforced base and protective feet, but the soft grained leather can relax slightly with wear. Using a lightweight bag organiser and storing the bag stuffed when not in use helps maintain its silhouette and reduces stress on the handle rings.

Q: What is included with this listing?
A: Everything included is listed under product information. For this item, it is offered without extras such as a shoulder strap, box, or dust bag unless specifically mentioned there.

Q: How does A Retro Tale authenticate this bag?
A: Every item is inspected by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and date codes, supported by specialist tools and experience. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional product information upon request.
