Saint LaurentSac De Jour Duffle Bag

Q: What size is this Saint Laurent Sac De Jour Duffle Bag, and what typically fits inside?
A: This is the Small version, measuring approximately 31.5 x 16.5 x 10 cm. It is well suited to daily essentials such as a phone, compact wallet or card holder, keys, sunglasses, a passport and a small cosmetics pouch. It may also suit a small tablet or e-reader, but it is not ideal for larger laptops or bulky A4 documents. Please use the measurements on this page as your best guide.

Q: Can this bag be carried by hand and on the shoulder?
A: Yes. It has dual rolled top handles with an approximate handle drop of 10 cm, plus a detachable adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate drop of 47 cm. That gives you the option of hand carry or shoulder wear. Whether it sits comfortably crossbody can vary depending on height and personal preference, so we recommend comparing the strap drop with a bag you already own.

Q: Does the bag close securely?
A: Yes. This piece features a top zip closure, which helps keep contents secure and makes it practical for everyday use. It also has protective base studs to help reduce wear when the bag is placed down.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Included in the product information are the box, dust bag, padlock, keys, clochette, detachable shoulder strap, authenticity card and original tag. If you would like to double-check anything included, the product information on this page is the best reference.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This bag is described as being in very good condition overall. The exterior and interior both show light traces of use, while the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. As this is a vintage item, minor signs of wear are normal and part of its character.

Q: Is smooth leather durable, and how should I care for it?
A: Smooth leather has a refined, elegant finish, but it can show hairline scratches more easily than heavily textured leather. To care for it, wipe gently with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid rough surfaces and excess moisture, and store it in its dust bag away from direct heat or sunlight. Lightly stuffing the bag when stored can also help it keep its shape.

Q: Is this bag best for everyday use or for travel?
A: The Small Sac De Jour Duffle works best as a smart everyday bag or for light day-to-day outings when you want more space than a compact handbag without moving into full travel-bag territory. It has the duffle-inspired look of a larger holdall, but this size is more suitable for essentials than for overnight packing.

Q: How do you authenticate this Saint Laurent bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully reviewed by in-house experts using detailed checks of materials, construction, stitching, hardware and brand details. We stand behind the authenticity of the pieces we offer, so you can shop pre-owned luxury with confidence.
