BalenciagaFirst Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Balenciaga First Bag?
A: With approximate measurements of 34 x 21 x 7 cm, this bag is well suited to everyday essentials such as a phone, small wallet, keys, sunglasses, a cosmetic pouch, and other compact items. It offers a surprisingly practical interior for its slim shape, but it is not ideal for bulky items or most laptops.

Q: Can this bag be carried by hand or on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This Balenciaga First Bag has dual rolled top handles as well as a detachable shoulder strap, so it can be styled by hand or on the shoulder. If you would like to compare the fit with a bag you already own, please refer to the product information, where the handle is listed as 14 cm and the strap as 52 cm.

Q: Is the Balenciaga First smaller than the Balenciaga City?
A: Yes. The First is generally considered the more compact option in Balenciaga’s classic Motorcycle family. It is a great choice if you want the signature slouchy look in a lighter, easier everyday size, while the City usually offers more capacity.

Q: Does this bag have a secure closure and any interior pockets?
A: Yes. This piece has a zip closure at the top and a black textile-lined interior with one internal pocket, which is useful for keeping smaller essentials organised.

Q: What is included with this bag?
A: According to the product information, this item includes a detachable shoulder strap and a mirror. If anything is not listed in the product information, it should not be assumed to be included.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: This bag is listed in Very Good Condition. The exterior shows light wear on the corners, the interior has light traces of use, and the hardware remains shiny with light scratches. This is a strong overall condition for a vintage Balenciaga piece.

Q: Does this bag have a serial number listed?
A: No serial number is listed in the product information for this specific item. If you would like more detail before purchasing, feel free to contact us and we can advise based on the available interior and authenticity details for this bag.

Q: How should I care for vintage Balenciaga leather?
A: We recommend gentle care: wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth, avoid harsh cleaning products, and keep the bag away from prolonged heat, direct sunlight, and excess moisture. For storage, keep it in a protective dust bag and lightly stuffed to help maintain its shape.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted for authenticity by specialists who assess details such as materials, construction, hardware, and brand markings. When buying vintage Balenciaga, these checks are especially important because details can vary between production periods.
