Q: What size is the Balenciaga Velo Bag, and what typically fits inside?
A: This bag measures approximately 33 x 28 x 10 cm, making it a practical medium everyday bag. It should comfortably hold a long wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses case, cosmetics pouch and other daily essentials. A small tablet should fit, and some compact 11-inch devices may fit depending on their shape, but it is not the most practical choice for most larger laptops.

Q: Can this bag be carried by hand and on the shoulder?
A: Yes. This piece has dual top handles as well as a detachable shoulder strap, so it can be carried by hand or worn hands-free. The Velo style is known for a longer strap and a more relaxed carry than the City, but how it sits will depend on your height and preferred fit.

Q: Is the Balenciaga Velo suitable for crossbody wear?
A: The Velo style is often worn crossbody thanks to its longer strap design. As vintage bags can vary slightly in fit and proportions, we recommend comparing the listed strap measurement with a bag you already own if crossbody comfort is especially important to you.

Q: What is the removable mirror for?
A: The leather-framed mirror is one of Balenciaga's signature details and is handy for quick touch-ups during the day. Many owners keep it attached and tuck it safely into a pocket when not in use. This item includes the mirror.

Q: How is the bag organised inside?
A: The main compartment closes with a zip and is lined in black fabric. Inside, there is one internal zip pocket for smaller valuables such as cards, keys or other essentials you want to keep separate.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: This bag comes with a dust bag, detachable shoulder strap and mirror. For the clearest overview of what is included with this exact piece, please refer to the product information section on this page.

Q: What condition is this bag in?
A: Overall, this item is in very good vintage condition. The exterior shows visible rubbing on the corners and worn marks, the interior has light traces of use and minor marks, and the brass hardware remains shiny with light scratches.

Q: Is pink leather difficult to maintain?
A: Soft vintage leather should be handled with care, especially in lighter tones. We recommend avoiding rough surfaces, prolonged direct sunlight, rain and colour transfer from dark denim or heavily dyed fabrics. When not in use, store the bag in its dust bag and lightly stuff it to help maintain its shape.

Q: How does the Velo compare with the Balenciaga City?
A: The Velo is generally considered a more satchel-like and hands-free alternative to the City. It is often described as having a longer strap and a slightly roomier, deeper feel, while the City is more compact and hand-carry focused.

Q: Is this bag authentic?
A: Yes. Every item sold by A Retro Tale is authenticated by in-house experts and backed by the store's authenticity guarantee, so you can shop with confidence.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: According to the made in label, this item was produced in Italy.
